On Sunday November 09, 2025 at approximately 10:16 hours, I Officer Jinright, with the Chatsworth Police Department, was dispatched to [200 BLOCK] Lakeview Drive Apartment [REDACTED] Chatsworth, Murray County, Georgia in reference to the complainant’s daughter coming into her residence and stealing her medication then left.
When I arrived on scene witnesses on scene said that the female, Regina Hammontree, had left out toward Lakeview Drive running. It was later discovered that she had gotten into a vehicle. I went to apartment [REDACTED] and spoke to [VICTIM #1], who said that her daughter Regina came to her residence after being told on November 01, 2025, by law enforcement to not return back to the property.
[VICTIM #1] said that Regina came into her residence pushing her out of the door barging into the residence. [VICTIM #1] said that after Regina pushed her that she went strait to her bedroom and started taking her prescription medication. [VICTIM #1] told her to get out of her room and she said that Regina ran out of the residence and got into a silver SUV that was described to have a large Alabama football sticker on the back and left.
I asked [VICTIM #1], who was visibly still upset and shaken from the incident, if she needed to be checked by EMS and she said that she did not. I asked [VICTIM #1] what medicines Regina had taken and she said that she took some of her Xanax, Hydrocodone, and Gabapentin. I asked [VICTIM #1] how much the medicine taken was and she said that she did not pay for it because she was on disability but she said if she did have to pay out of pocket it would be $70.00 or more. [VICTIM #1] said that she needed her medication for her medical problems.
I spoke to the a neighbor [WITNESS #1], who said that she knew that Regina had been at the residence and stole [VICTIM #1]’s medication. [WITNESS #1] was told that if she saw Regina back on the property to call 911, she said that she would.
While speaking to [VICTIM #1] Sergeant Pierce was able to locate the SUV that was used to transport Regina. Sergeant Pierce stopped the vehicle which was being operated by [WITNESS #2] who told Sergeant Pierce that Regina had stolen medication and where she had dropped Regina off at.
I asked Murray County 911 if they had a unit available to go see if Regina was at the address [WITNESS #2] gave. Corporal Pitts went to the address and was able to locate Regina and take her into custody.
While speaking to subjects on scene it was revealed that Regina had a large amount of mixed lose pills in her purse. The pills recovered were the same as what [VICTIM #1] said that was recovered. After Corporal Pitts concluded his investigation, he transported Regina to the Murray County Jail where I met with him to question Regina.
I read Regina her Miranda Warning and asked her why she was at her mother’s residence to which she replied to get clothing. I asked her why she did not call for a law enforcement escort and she said that she did not know that she had to. I then asked her why she stole her mother’s medication to which she replied she did not steal any of her mother’s medication.
With the totality of all testimonies Regina was charged on state warrants for Simple Battery FVA, Theft by Taking, and Criminal Trespass. The pills recovered from Regina were placed into evidence at the Chatsworth Police Department.
