I, Deputy Hall was dispatched to speak with [WITNESS #1] in reference to a former tenet leaving a dog behind that she found dead.

I arrived and Ms. [WITNESS #1] showed me the dog that was in a cage behind the residence dead and it looked to have been there for a while. Ms. [WITNESS #1] advised that the owner of the dog is Ryder Underwood and he moved out the night prior. Ms. [WITNESS #1] advised that she was coming to check the apartment and found the dead dog in the cage under a blanket. Ms. [WITNESS #1] advised that Mr. Underwood told her that he gave the dog back to his girlfriend.

I then checked locals on Mr. Underwood due to Ms. [WITNESS #1] not having all the information right then and found a cad where his information was ran on a traffic stop. I then ran that information and then called the number on his license.

I then spoke with [WITNESS #2] (Ryder’s dad). He asked what this was about and I advised that it was about a dog that he had left and ultimately told him that the dog was found in a cage dead. [WITNESS #2] advised that Ryder told him that he gave the dog back to his girlfriend a month ago and that he was trying to get Ryder to bring the dog to him for months. [WITNESS #2] advised that he is the one that gave him the dog. [WITNESS #2] advised that Ryder is living with a friend in Tunnel Hill and he does not know the address.

Two pictures of the dead dog in the cage were taken and attached to the report. State warrants for animal cruelty were taken on Ryder Underwood.
