Officer’s Narrative:
[Please note: The following is a direct transcription from the officer’s narrative report. We do not fix any spelling or grammatical errors. Any changes made by our staff are placed inside brackets. Some errors may exist.]

On June 4, 2022, at approximately 2312 hours, I, Deputy Adkins was patrolling Macon Road when I observed a White/Pink Toyota Prius Taxicab (GA. TAG [REDACTED]) traveling west with no tag light. I initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle. I contacted the driver Amilliano Rembert and asked him for his driver’s license and told him the reason for the stop.

A GCIC check revealed that Mr. Rembert had a valid driver’s license but also showed that he had outstanding Warrants with the Columbus Police Department. Deputy Gribbins arrived to assist, and I asked Mr. Rembert to step out of the car so that we could detain him until the warrants were verified.

I asked Mr. Rembert if there were any Firearms or Drugs in the car and replied that there might be a gun under drivers’ seat. He also stated that he shares the car with another employee and that sometimes he leaves it in the car.

A search of the car was conducted and a Black Tarus 9MM S/N# 1033627 was found halfway under the driver’s seat. A GCIC check of the gun was run but came back with no record. I then requested dispatch to run a criminal history of Mr. Rembert, and it showed he had to Felony Violation of Probation.

Mr. Rembert was charged with Possession of Firearm by convicted Felon GA Code 16-11-131 and was written a warning citation for the Tag Lights (# C929943).

Mr. Rembert was transported to the Muscogee County Jail without incident. Municipal Court was set for 06-06-22 at 0900 hours.

The vehicle was turned back over to the cab company.

All evidence was properly sealed and logged into evidence locker P3.
