MUSCOGEE COUNTY, Ga. – A 17-year-old girl who was pregnant has died after a shooting at a Columbus home early Saturday morning, authorities confirmed.

Columbus Police said officers responded to a report of gunfire on Jul. 27 around 1:10 a.m. in the 1100 block of Juniper Avenue. Two female victims were found with gunshot wounds, one at the scene and another inside a vehicle nearby on Japonica Avenue.

The critically injured teen, identified as Keiauna McFadden, was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where she later died from her injuries. Police confirmed McFadden was pregnant at the time of the shooting.

The second victim was treated and released from Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital. Her name has not been publicly released.

Investigators say the shooting occurred during a gathering at the residence on Juniper Avenue. Police have not released details about a motive or potential suspects.

McFadden’s death is now being investigated as both murder and feticide. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Cpl. M. Spivey at 706-225-4261. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
