[NARRATIVE #1 on December 31, 2023]
On December 31, 2023, I Deputy Restivo along with other deputies were working a road check at the intersection of SR 162 and County line road. One of the screening officers directed a vehicle to pull into the parking lot because the driver did not have a license on his person. Once in the parking lot I asked why he did not have his license on him, and he stated because it was suspended.
I replied well you know that means you got to go to jail. He said are you serious I the stated yes, I’m serious, you are under arrest step out of the vehicle. We had a back and forth exchange a few times where I told the driver he was under arrest multiple times. I then opened the door to the vehicle and reached inside to shut the vehicle off. He said don’t touch my f*cking car and put the car in drive and drove off out of the parking lot.
After he drove out of the parking lot Sgt. Redlinger began a vehicle pursuit with the vehicle. The violator drove in a reckless manner, driving south on SR 162 towards SR 36. The driver did not stop at the stop sign at the intersection of SR 162 and SR 212. While Sgt. Redlinger was up beside the car attempting to get in position to perform the PIT maneuver, the vehicle swerved towards him.
Once we made it to SR 36 the vehicle went to the right towards Butts County but could not control the vehicle and crashed. The driver was removed from the vehicle and placed in handcuffs. EMS arrived on scene and transported the driver to the hospital. We released the driver to EMS. I will be taking warrants on a later date.

[NARRATIVE #2 on December 31, 2023]
On 12-31-2023 at approximately 11:20 PM Mr. Seymore driving listed vehicle was stopped south on Hwy 162 @ County Line Road for a road check. Mr. Seymore could not produce a drivers license and asked to pull into the church parking lot while a license check was performed. It was determined that Mr. Seymore license was suspended and deputies asked him to step out of his vehicle.
Mr Seymore refused to exit the vehicle and drove off in a reckless manner from the parking lot striking the knee of Deputy Freddie Major. The vehicle turned south on Hwy 162 with Sgt. Redlinger following with lights and siren. Mr. Seymore refused to stop and continued south at speeds of 105 mph. Several attempts were made to stop listed vehicle with a pit but were unsuccessful. Listed vehicle refused to stop for a stop sign south on Hwy 162 at Hwy 212 and crossed the center line south bound in the north bound lane several times.
As Sgt. Redlinger attempted to get closer to listed vehicle, Mr Seymore slammed on his brakes, and swerved to try to make contact with vehicles in a manner to wreck patrol vehicle. Mr Seymore refused to stop for another stop sign south on Hwy 162 @ Hwy 36 while making a right turn at a high rate of speed. Mr Seymore lost control, crossed the center line, exited the roadway east of the north bound and struck a ditch and several trees. Mr Seymore received minor injuries and transported to Piedmont Newton Hospital.
