On 09/18/2022 at 14:35 hours, I responded to a call in reference to a penetrating trauma at the address of [7700 BLOCK] Fawn Circle, Covington Georgia 30016, which was located in Newton County. Dispatch was informed a male subject called 911 to report he was stabbed, was bleeding and was en-route to the Newton County Piedmont Hospital to be treated. It was further stated a female subject was driving him to the hospital and they would be in a white Hyundai Sonata.

I was in the area of Highway 278 and informed dispatch, due to my location I would be en-route to the hospital to stand by for the vehicle described. I observed a white Hyundai Sonata pull into the hospital driveway and pull to the area of the emergency room entrance. I pulled in behind the vehicle and as I parked the vehicle, a black male subject exited the passenger’s side holding a black shirt over his stomach area. At this time he had no shirt on.

I instructed him to continue inside the hospital, because he was alert and breathing fine. I followed behind him and alerted the medical staff he had been stabbed and he needed assistance as quick as possible. Once he was escorted to a room for treatment and was being treated, I asked him who stabbed him and he stated a family member and refused to give further. I exited the room and gave the staff time to access him and then asked him again and he provided further details.

I also made contact with a female (the driver of the vehicle) and she gave me a statement on what occurred. At this point I informed dispatch to have a Newton County Investigator all my cell phone. I then spoke to the investigator and informed him of my findings. He informed me to stand by at the hospital and he would be en-route to the address of the incident along with a Newton County Crime Scene investigator. Other deputies responded to that scene as well.
