On August 3, 2026, at approximately 17:13 hours, I was dispatched to [60 BLOCK] Skylar Dr in reference to a disturbance involving a boyfriend and girlfriend over a cellular phone.
Upon arrival, I made contact with the complainant, who stated he and his girlfriend had been arguing about ending their relationship. The complainant advised the argument began while both parties were inside his vehicle. During the argument, the offender allegedly snatched his cellular phone and ran toward a wooded area behind the residence in an apparent attempt to throw the phone into a nearby creek. The complainant stated he chased the offender into the wooded area in an attempt to recover his phone. He advised both parties sustained scratches from tree limbs and brush while running through the woods.
A short time later, the offender returned to the scene and approached where I was speaking with the complainant. The offender threw the complainant’s cellular phone in my direction, causing it to strike the ground. As the complainant attempted to retrieve the phone, I instructed him to leave it where it was and advised the offender needed to return the property directly to him since she had taken possession of it.
The offender immediately became loud, argumentative, and began using profane and obscene language toward both the complainant and me. Despite being given multiple lawful commands to calm down and stop creating a disturbance, the offender continued yelling and acting aggressively, causing a public disturbance in the neighborhood.
Due to the offender’s continued disorderly behavior and refusal to comply with lawful commands, I detained her and secured her in the rear of my patrol vehicle. I advised dispatch that I had one female detained. Deputy Dixon #9266 and Deputy Hollie #9221 arrived on scene to assist.
During the investigation, the offender alleged that the complainant had struck her during the incident. Deputies canvassed the area for surveillance footage that might corroborate her allegation; however, no video evidence supporting her claim was located. I also did not observe any visible injuries to the offender’s face or other evidence establishing probable cause for a Battery charge against the complainant.
The offender was afforded multiple opportunities to calm herself and resolve the situation without arrest. Despite those opportunities, she continued engaging in loud, tumultuous, and disorderly behavior. Based on her actions and refusal to comply with lawful commands, she was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct.
The offender was handcuffed, the handcuffs were checked for proper fit and double-locked, and she was secured in my patrol vehicle. I advised dispatch that I was en route to the Newton County Jail. Upon arrival, the offender was turned over to detention staff for processing and booking.
