On Thursday April 3, 2025, I responded to a Elementary School in Newton County in reference to a child abuse call, which occurred on 04/02/2025 at the listed residence. Upon my arrival, I made contact with the school police, the school guidance counselor and assistant principal. I was advised a 6 years- old juvenile female student got in trouble in school on Wednesday April 2, 2025. The juvenile was brought to the office where she was observed with injuries to her face.

The juvenile advised the school authorities of an incident, which occurred at her residence a day prior. She advised the school administors of a family incident, where she received injuries to her face. The school personnel advised me they made contact with the Department of Families and Children Services and they reported the incident.

Based on my observations, the Newton County Criminal Investigation Department was notified. An investigator responded and advised me they would follow up with the case.

While I was on scene, contact was made with the Department of Families and Children Services Investigator, who advised he was en-route to the childrens after care, where the juvenile was located.

A case number was assigned to this case.
