On 4/2/2026 I responded to Bethabara Baptist Church regarding a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident. While en route to the scene the witness was following the suspect vehicle where it was later stopped by deputies at Hodges Mill and Mars Hill.
Upon arriving at scene I contacted the victim who stated that while she was pulling into the church she was rear ended by the suspect vehicle. The victim complained of arm pain and was treated on scene. After the suspect rear ended the victim it collided with the sign for the church destroying it. The suspect continued to drive across the church grass and back onto Monroe Highway where it was followed by the witness.
The suspect was arrested and handcuffed in the rear, double locked to fit. The suspect was transported to the County Jail without incident.
