On 09/08/2025, I, Deputy S. Benson, was dispatched to an Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon at [30 BLOCK] Cole Meadows Pl. In reference to an individual and the suspect getting into a road rage incident that ended at [30 BLOCK] Cole Meadows Pl. As a result, the victim was transported to Tanner Villa Rica Hospital.

I dispatched myself to [30 BLOCK] Cole Meadows Place and initiated my blue lights and sirens, and began to run code to the residence. Dispatch relayed that the suspect, Adam Ruffin, had left the scene, and the victim, [VICTIM #1], was being transported to the hospital by personal vehicle. Dispatch informed further that there were children on scene at the residence.

K-9 Handler J. Bilbrey #1233 and I arrived on scene, and upon walking up the driveway, the children opened the front door to us. I first checked and clarified if they were okay, and made sure they weren’t struck, and asked if there was anyone else inside the residence. The children on scene informed me that no one else was on scene. Due to the ages of the minors, I refrained from questioning them both. I did inform the children on scene that we were going to have them stay outside with us, and the children were placed in Deputy A. Valentine-Nelson #1307 patrol vehicle.

The son on scene did advise on his own initiative that the suspect was firing his gun towards the residence, and a window to the residence had two bullet holes. Looking at the cul-de-sac, Deputy E. Reeves and I spotted two bullet casings lying on the concrete. Once Deputy D. Heggestuen #1187 arrived on scene, he placed placards to mark the bullet casings. Deputy Reeves and I placed the crime scene tape around the perimeter of the scene to contain it.

I assisted in trying to obtain more information from neighbors with fellow Deputies until Crime Scene Investigations and Detectives arrived on scene. Juvenile [JUVENILE #1] and Juvenile [JUVENILE #2] were transferred over to their uncle until their mother, [REDACTED], arrived back home to get her children.

After more investigating, K-9 Bilbrey was able to identify the suspect vehicle to be a 2018 white RAM 2500 with a temporary tag. After further investigation, one of the neighbors on Peggy Meadows Way was able to identify the suspect vehicle on their camera. CID was able to obtain a search warrant for the residence of [30 BLOCK] Peggy Meadows Way. CID, K-9, Corporal B. McCann #964, and I all entered the residence to check for occupants so Crime Scene could process the residence.
