On 12/21/2025, at approximately 13:39 hours, I, Deputy H. Acree #1373, Corporal C. A. Brown #900, and Deputy J. Shipp #831 was dispatched to a Domestic Dispute at [100 BLOCK] Cranbrooke Lane, Dallas, Ga, 30157.
Upon arriving on scene, deputies were met by the caller, Ms. [WITNESS #1]. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated that she was not involved with the other two subjects involved in the dispute. The two involved in the dispute were identified as Mr. Brandon Ballard and Ms. [VICTIM #1]. Deputies separated the two parties involved to try to determine if a crime had taken place.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she and Mr. Ballard were just arguing and that Mr. Ballard was mad. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Mr. Ballard was throwing stuff around the house and lifted the mattress of the master bedroom’s bed frame. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she was mad as well and was moving the furniture in the living room while arguing with Mr. Ballard. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that nothing got physical between her and Mr. Ballard. Upon taking a closer look at Ms. [VICTIM #1], there were no physical marks or injuries on her.
After talking to Ms. [VICTIM #1], deputies talked to Mr. Ballard. Mr. Ballard stated that he and the female were arguing about who owned what property within the house. Mr. Ballard stated that Ms. [VICTIM #1] was moving and throwing around the furniture in the living room and that nothing had hit him. Mr. Ballard stated that nothing got physical, just verbal arguing. I asked Mr. Ballard if he had moved the bed out of the bedroom, and Mr. Ballard said he had.
After talking to both parties, we talked to Ms. [WITNESS #1]. Ms. [WITNESS #1] stated that she arrived after Ms. [VICTIM #1] had called her, shortly before deputies arrived, and tried to defuse the situation. I asked Ms. [WITNESS #1] if there were any children present in the house. Ms. [WITNESS #1] replied that the children were taken to her house.
Deputies attempted to give Ms. [VICTIM #1] and Mr. Ballard alternate means to solve the situation. Deputies asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] if she would be willing to leave with Ms. [WITNESS #1]. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Mr. Ballard’s aunt was coming to get him. Mr. Ballard stated that he would go with his aunt. Deputies asked Mr. Ballard and Ms. [VICTIM #1] if they left that they would argue again. Both replied that they would not start again.
Deputies walked back to the patrol car to attempt to leave the scene. Ms. [WITNESS #1] came out of the residence trying to get deputies back inside the residence because Mr. Ballard and Ms. [VICTIM #1] started to argue again. Deputies walked inside the residence to talk to Mr. Ballard and Ms. [VICTIM #1]. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Mr. Ballard had started the argument back up and had gotten physical with her. Upon looking at Ms. [VICTIM #1], there were visible scratch marks on her nose, hand, and chest.
After talking to Ms. [VICTIM #1], deputies talked to Mr. Ballard. Mr. Ballard stated that Ms. [VICTIM #1] had gotten physical with him first, and he was trying to defend himself from Ms. [VICTIM #1]. Upon looking at Mr. Ballard, there were no signs of any physical marks that were present when talking to him the first time.
Upon talking to both parties, Mr. Ballard was arrested for battery on a pregnant woman. Mr. Ballard was able to grab the belongings that he wanted to bring to the county jail. I took pictures of Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s visible injuries and told her that it will be added to the report. I informed Ms. [VICTIM #1] that the report would be ready in 3-5 business days.
I also informed Ms. [VICTIM #1] that if she had any further information or questions to contact the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Ballard was taken to the Paulding County Jail to be booked in. A warrant was obtained, and a copy of the warrant was left in booking.
