On January 17, 2026, at approximately 0931 hours, I, Deputy Aaliyah Nelson, responded to a domestic disturbance call at [200 BLOCK] Oak Landing Dr, Douglasville, Ga 30134.

Upon arrival, Deputy Mattick and I saw four individuals outside the residence. The complainant, [VICTIM #1], stated his brother, Cole Terry, had been arguing with his girlfriend over the phone. [VICTIM #1] stated he told Cole to calm down, to which Cole said “mind your business.” [VICTIM #1] then stated he told Cole “I’m not your bit*h” and Cole pushed him, causing him to fall on top of their mother, [WITNESS #1].

Cole then hit [VICTIM #1] in the face and put him in a choke hold. I asked [VICTIM #1] what he meant, and he stated Cole wrapped his arm around his neck, causing him to be unable to breathe. [VICTIM #1] stated he was unable to breath for approximately 1 minute. [VICTIM #1] stated he felt like he was going to pass out.

[VICTIM #1] stated he didn’t want his brother to be arrested, he just wants him to get help. When speaking with [VICTIM #1] I observed swelling in the middle of his forehead as well as a abrasion, and his eyes were red in color. I asked [VICTIM #1] if he needed medical attention, but he denied.

When speaking with Cole, he stated [VICTIM #1] had made comments about his relationship and he told him to mind his business. Cole stated he got upset and slightly pushed [VICTIM #1], and [VICTIM #1] tried to hit him but missed. Cole stated he then hit [VICTIM #1] in the face, and they fought on the ground, and placed [VICTIM #1] in a choke hold.

I asked Cole to explain what he meant by that, and he stated he wrapped his arm around [VICTIM #1]’s neck. Cole stated [VICTIM #1] was unable to get out of it and was getting lightheaded. Cole stated [VICTIM #1] told him to stop, and he did. Cole stated when he let go, [VICTIM #1] was on the ground and very lightheaded, and he walked away.

When speaking with [WITNESS #1], she stated Cole and [VICTIM #1] had been fighting. She stated [VICTIM #1] told Cole to calm down, and Cole got mad and told him to mind his business and stay out of his relationship. She stated Cole walked out and then came back and pushed [VICTIM #1]. She stated [VICTIM #1] tried to defended himself, but Cole swung at him, causing him to fall on top of her. She stated Cole continued to fight and placed [VICTIM #1] in a choke hold. She stated [VICTIM #1] was unable to speak and his face was turning red. She stated Cole eventually let go and walked away.

I then spoke with the father, [WITNESS #2], who stated he saw the tail end of the incident. He stated [WITNESS #1] called for him due to her falling down, and he saw Cole with his arm across [VICTIM #1]’s neck. I asked him what [VICTIM #1]’s condition was during this incident, and he stated his son was very red and unable to breathe.

After further investigation, Cole Terry was the determined to be the predominant aggressor due to him posing the most on going threat. Cole was placed under arrest and handcuffs were checked for proper fitting and double locked.

Cole Terry was search incident to arrest and taken into custody, and warrants were obtained for Battery (Family Violence) and Aggravated Assault by Strangulation. He was taken to the Paulding County jail, and witness statements were obtained from all parties and photos were taken of all injuries. I then went back into service.
