On December 7, 2023 at approximately 0921 hours, I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Pleasant Dr in reference to a domestic dispute. Dispatch stated that there was a physical domestic that included a knife. Dispatch stated that she also had an additional caller that was a juvenile but was unable to talk to her because of service.
Upon arrival I observed Devon Jones in the roadway walking towards me. I asked Devon if he had any weapons on him. He stated that he had a knife in his pocket. I then took the knife from his back pocket and placed it on my car. I then asked who cut him since he had blood on his clothes. He stated that it was his sister, [VICTIM #1] and that she was still in the residence. As I approached the residence, I observed [WITNESS #1] who was beside the house and [VICTIM #1] who walked outside. I then advised [VICTIM #1] to show me her hands and asked if she had any weapons on her. She stated that she did not. I then spoke to [VICTIM #1].
[VICTIM #1] stated the following: She advised that she was in the vehicle with Devon and his wife [WITNESS #1]. She stated that he started yelling at [WITNESS #1] so she spoke up and told him to quit doing that while she was driving. When they got home she told the kids to go to the bedroom. Devon then attacked her, pushing her to the ground. Once she was on the ground he started punching and kicking her. He then got off her and picked up a pocket knife and stuck it in his pocket. She then went and grabbed a kitchen knife to protect her and the kids while he walked outside. Devon then walked back inside and went after her again grabbing the knife. She advised that once the knife cut him he walked outside. I then spoke to [WITNESS #1].
[WITNESS #1] stated the following: She advised that she was driving while Devon was yelling at her. She advised that [VICTIM #1] told him to quit since she was driving. She stated that when they got home, Devon went after [VICTIM #1]. They started fighting until he went outside. She stated that [VICTIM #1] then grabbed a knife but when Devon walked back in he went after her. She stated that Devon then got cut but did not know where. I then spoke to Deputy Griffin.
Deputy Griffin stated that she did not get much out of Devon. She stated that he was talking about [VICTIM #1] telling him how to raise his kids. She advised that she then started spitting and that he then started hitting her. I then spoke to the juvenile [WITNESS #2] since she observed/heard what happened.
[WITNESS #2] stated that the following: She advised that her uncle, Devon told [VICTIM #1] to get out of the residence. She stated that She then observed Devon started attacking her. [WITNESS #2] then started tearing up and advised she don’t remember anything after that. She then went and called 911.
I did not see any marks on [VICTIM #1] but she did say she bruises easy. Devon got medical attention for the cut on his finger but didn’t go to the hospital. I then arrested Devon for Simple Battery and transported him to Paulding County Jail. I also placed the knife into evidence and advised a report would be made. I was also notified that Devon told Metro that he wanted to step in front of the Fire truck. I then placed him on suicide watch at the jail.
