On 01/17/2026 at approximately 1530 hours, I, Deputy Nicholas Passig, did respond to the Library at 1815 Hiram Douglasville Hwy. in reference to a subject complaint.
Upon arriving on scene, I spoke with Deputy Greenway, who stated he had already spoken to the victim and complainant and gathered their information. The victim and complainant stated that a male (later identified as Diante Parks) was at one of the computers with his pants down and attempted to start a conversation with the victim as she walked by.
I began looking for Diante, and as I peered around a corner, I observed Diante sitting behind a computer monitor. Diante was moving in a continuous up-and-down motion while sitting in the chair, and I noticed his pants were lowered around his calves.
I spoke with Deputy Heggestuen, and we confronted Diante. When I walked up to Diante, I noticed that on the computer, he had a woman’s Facebook profile open, and one of the pictures showed her in a bathing suit at the beach. When asked what he was doing, Diante immediately began pulling up his pants.
After Diante was placed in handcuffs, he began forcefully pulling downward from me. It seemed to me that Diante was grabbing for something in the small of his back, but I did not visibly see anything. While escorting Diante outside, he tried to speak to the Library’s employees.
Once outside, we began searching Diante incident to arrest. Deputy Heggestuen noticed an object in Diante’s hand and took it from him. The object was a glass pipe with burn marks and white residue inside. Diante was notified that he was trespassed from the Library and he could not return. Diante told us that he was on probation for possession of meth and fleeing or attempting to elude.
Diante was transported to the Paulding County Detention Center to be booked in for public indecency and possession of drug-related objects. I added the glass pipe into evidence and attached photos of the glass pipe to the case folder. No further police action was taken and I returned to service.
