On 10/21/2025, I, Deputy S. Benson, was dispatched to a Dispute at [40 BLOCK] Copper Leaf Way. In reference to a woman calling about her Husband preventing her from leaving her residence driveway. As a result, I provided legal advice to the complainant and informed her that I would be documenting the incident that occurred on today’s date.

Prior to my arrival, the complainant, [VICTIM #1], was able to leave the residence and advised that she would meet Deputies at the CVS located at the corner of Seven Hills Blvd/Cedarcrest Rd. Shortly after that, [VICTIM #1] then informed dispatch that she could not stay and that she requested to cancel the response. Sergeant C. Dyer #915 and I still responded to the CVS in hopes of locating [VICTIM #1] in her vehicle, but she was no longer there.

I called [VICTIM #1] to ask her what all occurred today. [VICTIM #1] did clarify to me that she requested to cancel us because she was safe now and did not need a response. I explained to [VICTIM #1] that we still respond to disputes to ensure the safety of all parties. I asked [VICTIM #1] if she could just explain what happened today.

[VICTIM #1] explained that she and her husband, Farhan Lakhani, both work from home, but [VICTIM #1] had a YouTube video on talking about toxic relationships. This upset Farhan and a verbal argument ensued then at that point. [VICTIM #1] further explained that Farhan and she share a Facebook profile, but advised that there were no pictures linked to it. [VICTIM #1] stated that Farhan uploaded a picture of her to the account profile and began to message people pretending to be her.

[VICTIM #1] explained that one confirmed person Farhan messaged was her high school ex-boyfriend, whom she dated when she was 16 years old. [VICTIM #1] explained to me that she no longer wanted to be at the residence and stated that she was going to use her lunch break and go buy her son cleats that he needs.

[VICTIM #1] informed me that she went upstairs to her bedroom to change clothes, and she stated that Farhan followed her up to the bedroom in an attempt to stop her from leaving. [VICTIM #1] explained that she walked past Farhan and ran downstairs, then outside to her vehicle. [VICTIM #1] informed me that her car key fob is not working, so she has to put her key into the ignition. [VICTIM #1] said that Farhan jumped into her passenger seat and began using his hands to cover the keyhole so she could not start her vehicle. [VICTIM #1] then tried a different vehicle, and Farhan followed her, and then she went back to her vehicle once more.

I did ask [VICTIM #1] what ultimately made Farhan stop and let her leave, finally, and she stated because she called 911. [VICTIM #1] followed that by saying Farhan has a fear of getting arrested because he does not want to get deported. [VICTIM #1] informed me that Farhan is from Pakistan.

[VICTIM #1] did explain that she and Farhan have been arguing since yesterday, when they took a trip to Biloxi. [VICTIM #1] did state that Farhan stuck her in the head in the vehicle when they were arguing, and [VICTIM #1] stated that it did not get physical today between her and Farhan. [VICTIM #1] did open up to me and explained that Farhan has had a history of putting his hands on [VICTIM #1] to cause physical harm to her.

[VICTIM #1] informed me of an incident that took place in her home in August, in which Farhan strangulated [VICTIM #1], and I asked [VICTIM #1] what made her not report this. [VICTIM #1] did express fear of having to be on her own with her children, and does not know how she would provide for her children by herself. [VICTIM #1] also explained that while having that video, she felt like it was enough to scare Farhan to not harm her again, but clearly, it has not stopped him from what [VICTIM #1] has explained.

At this time, I did inform [VICTIM #1] of Shepard’s Rest and the process of what that looks like to get her help. I unfortunately did have a pamphlet to provide to [VICTIM #1], and she was in Cartersville at the time of this phone call. [VICTIM #1] further informed me that Farhan has a habit of needing to know any conversations she has with anyone. Farhan does not want [VICTIM #1] speaking to friends and family. It appeared to me that Farhan wants to keep [VICTIM #1] secluded and to rely solely on him. It’s evident that this is already what is occurring, especially since [VICTIM #1] expressed, she is scared to leave and be on her own. [VICTIM #1] did not want to meet, but I did inform her that I would be documenting the incident.

I explained to [VICTIM #1] further that if she returned home and Farhan and she got into a dispute again, to call 911, or even text my county cell number, and we will come. Even when speaking to [VICTIM #1], she seemed very reluctant to want Farhan to get in trouble due to fear of retaliation from Farhan or his family. Later, I did inform [VICTIM #1] of the case number for the report and advised that there are resources available to her so she does not have to endure that.
