On December 14, 2025 I Deputy Jones was dispatched to [60 BLOCK] Shoal Creek in regards to a suicide attempt, and domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival I met other on scene deputies who had spoken to the suspects mother who informed him that the victim had taken pills and consumed a large quantity of alcohol. At this time the victim who was identified as [VICTIM #1] elaborated on the incident. Karen the suspect/victim was transported by Metro Ambulance to Paulding Wellstar for treatment.

[VICTIM #1] stated that her adult daughter, Karen Schubert had become upset at noon on this date and began to consume large amounts of liquor and wine. Not only had Karen consumed alcohol, she attempted to end her life by taking a bottle of prescription medication as well. [VICTIM #1] further stated that the reason for Karen’s behavior is that she blames her mother for not having children and not having a family.

During this incident Karen slapped [VICTIM #1] in the face more than once, with an open hand. This physical contact with [VICTIM #1] in the face left visible marks and one small laceration. I inquired with [VICTIM #1] if the broken Christmas decorations that were on the floor were thrown at her, to which she stated that they were not nor were they her property. However [VICTIM #1] did state that Karen had taken her tablet and smashed it on the ground while using her foot to crush it and make it inoperable. Not only was the tablet destroyed, Karen then took [VICTIM #1] cell phone and attempted to destroy it as well. The cell phone was not broken, instead of breaking it Karen took it and threw it out in the yard where deputies were able to locate it.

At this time Deputies asked if there was anything we could assist [VICTIM #1] with, to which she stated there was not. Note that the on scene Deputies were Sgt Martin. Deputy Capozzi, and Deputy Jones of the Paulding County Sheriffs Office. [VICTIM #1] was informed as to the charges being taken against Karen due to the Family Violence Act. There was nothing further for Deputies to investigate at this location.

I applied for warrants the charges were for Battery FVA, Criminal Trespass FVA, and Simple Battery on a person 65yrs of age or older. Judge Johnson signed the warrants and they were put in the warrant box.
