On arrival at the scene, I spoke with the driver of vehicle 2, [VICTIM #1], she stated the following:
While driving north on Hiram Acworth Highway, she had allowed a vehicle to exit the shopping center parking lot near the intersection. When driving forward, she felt vehicle 1 make contact with her vehicle. She then pulled over to the side of the road after the vehicles made contact and she stated the vehicle continued driving without stopping. Other drivers who stopped with [VICTIM #1] stated they saw vehicle 1 continue to drive south on Hiram Acworth Highway but where able to give the vehicles tag number to me.
The vehicle was shown continuously driving south on Hiram Acworth Highway on flock. It later showed on flock the vehicle drove back up Hiram Acworth Highway but never returned to the scene of the accident. [VICTIM #1] was given the case number and all of the drivers information from the tag number, who was identified as Kerri Southerly.
I then returned to service.
Later at approximately 7:27 PM, I went out to [300 BLOCK] N Johnston Street with Dep. Valentine to make contact with driver of vehicle 1, Kerri Southerly (Reference case #202510210126). Dep. Valentine had informed me the vehicle had hit on flock in the Dallas area and when we checked the residence the vehicle came back to, it was there in the driveway. I contacted the victim and family and they stated they wanted to press charges. We made contact with Kerri Shortly and she stated she intended to stop after making contact with the vehicle but continued driving.
Kerri was then placed under arrest. She was placed into handcuffs that were checked for proper fitting and placed into the back of patrol vehicle. She was then transported to the county jail and placed into their custody. She was given citations on Hit and Run.
We then returned to service
