Before my arrival, Dispatch informed me that a domestic dispute was in progress at [200 BLOCK] Crestworth Court. Dispatch informed me that the caller, Kimberly Russell, stated that there were people in her house who were refusing to leave. Dispatch informed me that the caller stated, “If I go inside, I will kill them both”.

Dispatch informed me that they heard that a female stated, “Please put the knife down”. The caller stated to dispatch that she had the knife, but she dropped the knife. Dispatch then heard the caller asking if she would get in trouble if she struck the male because he refused to leave. Dispatch then heard the caller state, “I’m about to hit you if you come at me”.

Upon arrival, I noticed several parties standing outside the residence. Deputy Greenway spoke with Kimberly, while I spoke with [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated the following: His ex-girlfriend, Kimberly, had walked in on him while he was having sexual intercourse with [VICTIM #1]. He informed me that he was in the master bathroom when Kimberly walked in. Kimberly started yelling for him and [VICTIM #1] to leave the residence.

He then got dressed and informed me that Kimberly had attacked him in the past, so he grabbed his firearm and placed it into his pocket for his protection. He then left the bedroom and walked to the garage. He stated that he shares the master bathroom with Kimberly. He stated that he has lived in the residence since May 2025. After some time had passed, he attempted to return upstairs, and Kimberly stated, “I’m about to hit you if you come at me”. He then waited outside until Law Enforcement arrived on the scene. He did admit that he was intoxicated during this incident.

I then spoke with [VICTIM #1], who stated the following: She was in the master bathroom with [WITNESS #1], having sexual intercourse. Kimberly entered the master bathroom and started to yell at her, telling her to get out of the residence. She got dressed, and Kimberly returned to the bathroom with a machete. She stated that Kimberly was swinging the machete near her. Kimberly told her to get out of the residence.

She stated that she was scared that Kimberly was going to cut her with the machete. She stated that she had been at the residence with [WITNESS #1] since last night. She stated that she wished to pursue charges against Kimberly. She stated that she was intoxicated during the incident. Deputy Greenway spoke with Kimberly first, and Deputy Greenway completed a case supplemental on what Kimberly informed him.

I then spoke with Kimberly, who stated the following: She returned to her residence and walked to her bedroom. She noticed that her bedroom door was locked, so she got a card and unlocked the door. She entered her room and noticed that [WITNESS #1] and [VICTIM #1] were having sexual intercourse in her master bathroom. She stood in the doorway without announcing herself to [WITNESS #1] or [VICTIM #1]. She then yelled at [WITNESS #1] and [VICTIM #1] to get out of her residence.

She stated that [WITNESS #1] put on a robe and grabbed his firearm. She then went downstairs and grabbed her machete from on top of the refrigerator. She proceeded to go to the entryway, tap the machete on the table, and yell for [WITNESS #1] and [VICTIM #1] to leave her residence. When asked why she grabbed the machete, she stated that she grabbed the machete because [WITNESS #1] grabbed his firearm. I asked her to complete a witness statement, and she agreed. She stated that she had camera footage of the incident.

I spoke with Kimberly’s daughter, [WITNESS #2], who stated the following: She was in her room when she started to hear grunting in the room next to hers. Her mother, Kimberly, walked into the room, grabbed a card, and unlocked her bedroom. She heard arguing in Kimberly’s room. She witnessed [WITNESS #1] leave the room, and [VICTIM #1] was on the ground, undressed. She told [VICTIM #1] that she needed to leave the residence. She then witnessed Kimberly grab a machete, but then she dropped the machete.

I witnessed the incident through Kimberly’s camera, which was in the living room. I witnessed Kimberly walk up the stairs and attempt to open her door. She went into her daughter’s room and returned to her bedroom. She opened the bedroom door and walked into the room. I heard yelling, and then witnessed [WITNESS #1] walk out of the bedroom with a black robe on. I heard more yelling from in the bedroom.

I witnessed Kimberly exit the residence through the front door. I then witnessed [VICTIM #1] exit the bedroom and walk downstairs into the living room. I witnessed Kimberly and [VICTIM #1] argue in the living room. [VICTIM #1] was trying to locate her property so she could leave the residence. I then heard Kimberly state, “You have about five seconds to leave my house”.

I witnessed Kimberly go to the refrigerator and grab what appears to be a large cutting instrument. Kimberly then starts yelling, “Please get out of my house”. I then witnessed Kimberly walking towards [VICTIM #1] with the large cutting instrument. I witnessed Kimberly state, “Please do not go up my stairs. I witnessed [VICTIM #1] place her hands in the air, and Kimberly walking towards [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] then went into the corner of the room, while Kimberly walked towards [VICTIM #1] with the large cutting instrument in her hand. I witnessed [VICTIM #1] then exit the house.

I informed Kimberly that she was under arrest for Aggravated Assault. I escorted Kimberly to the front of my patrol vehicle, where she was searched incident to arrest. I secured Kimberly’s wrists in handcuffs. I checked for proper fitting and double-locked the handcuffs.

I transported Kimberly to the Paulding County Detention Center without incident. Custody over Kimberly was transferred to the Paulding County Jail Staff. The incident was recorded on my issued Motorola in-car camera and my body-worn camera. The 911 phone call is attached to the report. I secured the large cutting instrument and placed it into evidence.

Kimberly was charged with O.C.G.A. 16-5-1, Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon, by placing [VICTIM #1] in reasonable fear of receiving great bodily injury or death. The large cutting instrument, when used offensively, can cause great bodily injury or death. Kimberly walked in an aggressive manner towards [VICTIM #1] with a large cutting instrument in her hand. Kimberly was waving the large cutting instrument near [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] stated that she was scared that Kimberly was going to cut her.

I returned to service.
