On arrival at the scene, deputies met with complainant, [VICTIM #1], and his wife, [REDACTED]. He stated before we arrived the subject, Morgan Dodge, had been physical with him. He stated she had thrown food at him due to being frustrated. She had also hit him in the chest multiple times when she was yelling at him as well. He stated she had been dropped off earlier in the day by deputies due to her having issues and her mother’s home. She had come here and then began to get hostile with them because she had not taken her mental health medication.

We suggested to both [REDACTED] and [VICTIM #1], we could take Morgan to the hospital in lieu of charges to get her help she needed. We then went to go and speak with Morgan and when asked what had occurred, she did not want to answer any questions. When she was told she was going to the hospital she got aggressive and at first was refusing to go. After speaking to her, she agreed and was placed into handcuffs that were checked for proper fitting and placed in the back of my patrol vehicle.

Dispatch had advised the hospital was on diversion for mental health patients and was not taking any patients till midnight. We then called a supervisor and we were advised the next best step was to take her to the county jail for the charges she had so she can get the help she needs there. [REDACTED] and [VICTIM #1] were advised she would be transported to the county jail due to the hospital being on diversion.

I then told Morgan the hospital was not taking patients and she was going to the county jail instead. When she was told that she became irate and began to hit her head on the partition. She then stated out loud she wanted to end her own life while sitting in the back seat. When arriving at the jail she gave the jail staff no issue and was put in their custody without further incident. Warrants for Simple Battery FV and Simple Battery Against person over the age of 65 or older FV would later be obtained.
