On October 21, 2025, at approximately 13:45, I, Deputy B. Mattick, responded to a call for service. I was dispatched to [100 BLOCK] Tannin Court in reference to a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, I spoke with the suspect, Nadine Brown, who stated the following: She got into a physical altercation with her ex-boyfriend, [VICTIM #1]. She explained that she and [VICTIM #1] still live together, but are not currently in a relationship. [VICTIM #1] had returned from a trip to Seattle at approximately 08:00 on the above date. She had given [VICTIM #1] multiple keys to the residence, but [VICTIM #1] kept losing them.
When [VICTIM #1] arrived, she was still sleeping due to her working night shift. [VICTIM #1] had to call a locksmith to enter the residence. When she woke up, she went to her vehicle and noticed that her garage opener was missing from her vehicle. She believes that [VICTIM #1] took the garage door opener. [VICTIM #1] was in the living room, and she went to confront him about the garage door opener. [VICTIM #1] denied having the garage door opener.
[VICTIM #1] attempted to go upstairs to use the restroom, but she did not want him to use the upstairs restroom, due to there being a restroom downstairs. She stood on the stairs first stair closest to the bottom floor, and [VICTIM #1] stood on the floor. [VICTIM #1] then urinated on himself, and she felt [VICTIM #1] had urinated on her. [VICTIM #1] then went upstairs and lay on her bed. She informed me that the bed that [VICTIM #1] was lying on was the room that she used to sleep in, but she no longer sleeps in that bed.
She informed me that [VICTIM #1] frequently uses that room due to it being the only bathroom with a shower in it. While [VICTIM #1] was on the bed, she grabbed Hydrogen Peroxide and started to splash it on [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #1] had turned his head towards her, and some of the hydrogen peroxide got into his eye. [VICTIM #1] then kicked her in the abdomen. She stated that she did not need any medical attention. She stated that she had the altercation recorded on her phone.
I then spoke with [VICTIM #1], who stated the following: He informed me that he had the altercation recorded on his phone. I witnessed [VICTIM #1] sitting on the couch in the living room. I witnessed Nadine standing close to him, demanding that he give her back the garage door opener. Nadine continued to ask for the garage door opener for several minutes. I did not see anything become physical in the first video that he showed me.
I asked about him possibly urinating on Nadine. He explained that he has a weak bladder, and Nadine was preventing him from going to the bathroom upstairs. Nadine was standing on the stairs, and he was attempting to walk up the stairs, but Nadine refused to get out of his way. He stated that he urinated on himself, and did not urinate on Nadine. He stated that he had more videos of the altercation.
I witnessed [VICTIM #1] on the ground of the kitchen. I witnessed Nadine standing over [VICTIM #1] and demanding the garage door opener. I witnessed [VICTIM #1] state, “I’m not giving you sh*t”. I witnessed Nadine intentionally step on [VICTIM #1] while he was on the ground. I witnessed Nadine state, “If you weren’t lying where my foot was, I wouldn’t step on you”. I then witnessed [VICTIM #1] lying on a bed.
[VICTIM #1] explained that he uses that room to take showers due to the room connecting to the bathroom. I could hear in the video Nadine telling [VICTIM #1] to get off the bed. I then heard [VICTIM #1] saying, “Are you trying to blind me?”. I then hear Nadine cry out in pain. [VICTIM #1] explained that Nadine had splashed Hydrogen Peroxide in his eye. He pushed Nadine away from him after she splashed Hydrogen Peroxide in his eye. He requested to be checked out by EMS. EMS asked if he would like to go to the hospital, and he refused. I witnessed that [VICTIM #1]’s left eye was red.
Due to both testimonies by both parties and the video of the altercation, I determined Nadine to be the predominant aggressor for posing the most serious ongoing threat. I informed Nadine that she was under arrest. I escorted Nadine to the front of my patrol vehicle, where she was searched incident to arrest by Deputy Benson. I secured Nadine in handcuffs. I double-locked the handcuffs and checked for proper fitting. I secured Nadine in the back of my patrol vehicle and transported her to the Paulding County Detention Center without incident. Custody over Nadine was transferred to the Paulding County Jail Staff.
Nadine committed the offense of O.C.G.A. 16-5-21, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, by splashing hydrogen peroxide in the eye of [VICTIM #1]. Hydrogen peroxide, when used offensively, can cause serious bodily injury. Hydrogen peroxide, when left untreated, can cause blindness. Nadine committed the offense of O.C.G.A. 16-5-23, simple battery, by intentionally causing physical pain to [VICTIM #1]. Nadine intentionally stepped on [VICTIM #1], causing injury. I returned to service.
