On October 8, 2025, at 6:15 pm, I was dispatched to 500 Veterans Memorial Blvd in reference to an assault that had already occurred.
On arrival, I spoke to [VICTIM #1], who stated he was the victim of two individuals (later identified as Devin Mask and George Mask) who had strangulated him and punched him. [VICTIM #1] noted that George had come over to the area where he and his friends were hanging out, in the parking lot of the park. George had arrived with three others in an ATV and proceeded to scream at [REDACTED], a friend, for his speed on the roadway just prior. [VICTIM #1] stated that George and Devin also had issues with [REDACTED] due to Devin now dating [REDACTED]’s ex-girlfriend. [VICTIM #1] tried to intervene when George was screaming in [REDACTED]’s face, but George started threatening [VICTIM #1] after a brief argument. George grabbed [VICTIM #1], wrapped his hands around both sides of his neck, squeezed for a moment, then shoved him backwards, causing him to fall. [VICTIM #1] stated that once he got back on his feet and steadied, he was then punched in the face by Devin (George’s son). After the punch, the four returned to the ATV and drove off to the other side of the park.
[VICTIM #1] did have what appeared to be palm and fingerprint indicators around the throat and rear of the neck, which were photographed and placed on Axon under the case number.
Two third-party eyewitnesses watched the entire event unfold, who stated the event in much of the same manner as stated by [VICTIM #1], with the difference of not being able to see the strangulation due to all the “movement”.
I spoke with George, who stated that they had a verbal altercation with [REDACTED] in the middle of the road on Veterans Memorial Boulevard, but that was the end of it. George said he yielded at [REDACTED] because he had accelerated down the roadway close to him and the others who were hanging banners along the fence. However, at no time did they go over to the group, nor was there anything physical that happened.
Due to the unbiased third-party accounts of the incident and the visible marks on the neck of [VICTIM #1], I placed George and Devin under arrest. Devin was transported to the Pickens Adult Detention Center by Officer Loudermilk. George was transported to Pickens Adult Detention Center by Officer Hornsby. Both were turned over to jail staff.
I had the eyewitness fill out a voluntary statement form. I had the victim fill out a victim notification form, which was turned over to jail staff along with the individuals.
George Mask was charged with the following
OCGA 16-5-21 Aggravated Assault
Devin Mask was charged with
OCGA 16-5-23 Simple Battery
[End of Narrative]
