On Thursday, February 26th, 2026, at approximately 18:44 hrs, I, D/S J. Deason, responded to [100 BLOCK] Blair Street in Tiger, Georgia, in reference to an assault that had just occurred.

On scene, I observed a male, whom I identified as [VICTIM #1], standing in the driveway of the residence. I approached [VICTIM #1], introduced myself, and asked him what had happened. [VICTIM #1] said that he is the caretaker for [WITNESS #1]. [VICTIM #1] told me that, as he was exiting [WITNESS #1]’s bedroom to get her a glass of ice water, her son, Brian Dewitt Love, approached him, threatened to “kick his a*s”, and told him that it was time for him to go.

[VICTIM #1] said that Brian then grabbed him by the neck and pushed him towards the front door of the home. [VICTIM #1] said that when Brian grabbed his neck, Brian strangled him to the point that he was having difficulty speaking. I observed red marks on both sides of [VICTIM #1]’s neck and an abrasion on the left side of his neck to indicate signs of strangulation. I asked [VICTIM #1] if he wanted to press charges against Brian, and he replied, “Yes.” I photographed the injuries to [VICTIM #1]’s neck. I asked [VICTIM #1] if he would be willing to complete a witness statement, and he agreed.

As I entered the residence, I noticed a pair of eyeglasses in the front doorway. I entered the residence and observed a male, whom I later identified as Brian Dewitt Love, sitting on a couch in the living room. I detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Brian as he spoke with me. Brian said that he and [VICTIM #1] do not get along. Brian told me that [VICTIM #1] showed up at the house, and when he asked him to leave, [VICTIM #1] pushed him.

Brian said that when [VICTIM #1] pushed him, he pushed him back. Brian told me that was the only physical contact between them. Brian said he was the one who got [WITNESS #1] ice water and not [VICTIM #1]. I asked Brian if he had been drinking alcohol, to which he stated, “No”. I asked Brian if he would complete a witness statement, and he agreed.

I entered the right-front bedroom and observed a female, whom I identified as [WITNESS #1], sitting on a bed. [WITNESS #1] told me Brian doesn’t like [VICTIM #1] for some reason. [WITNESS #1] said that when [VICTIM #1] went to get her a glass of ice water, Brian approached [VICTIM #1] at the front door, told him that it was time to go, grabbed [VICTIM #1]’s neck, and pushed him out the front door. [WITNESS #1] said she had to scream at Brian before he would let go of [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #1] told me that when Brian had [VICTIM #1] by the neck, [VICTIM #1] did not fight back or push Brian back. I asked [WITNESS #1] if she would be willing to fill out a witness statement, and she agreed.

I approached Brian and asked him to demonstrate how he pushed [VICTIM #1]. Brian demonstrated the physical altercation with [VICTIM #1], telling me that he grabbed him around the neck with one hand and with the other hand on [VICTIM #1]’s right shoulder. Brian said he then used physical force to push [VICTIM #1] out the front door of the house. I told Brian that the injuries I observed on [VICTIM #1]’s neck indicated that he had strangled him.

I informed Brian that he was under arrest for Aggravated Assault Strangulation. I handcuffed Brian behind his back, checked the cuffs for fit, and double-locked them. I secured Brian in the rear seat of my patrol car, which I had searched and cleared of contraband before transport.

I transported Brian to the Rabun County Detention Center, where I turned him over to jail staff without incident. I searched and cleared the rear seat of my patrol car after transport, finding no contraband left by Brian. I secured a felony arrest warrant against Brian for Aggravated Assault Strangulation. The arrest affidavit, warrant, witness statements, and photographs are attached to this report.
