On Sunday, August 3, 2025, at approximately 1248 hours, Deputy Hannah Gay, Deputy Tiffany Justice, and Corporal Kevin Cheillada were dispatched to [1800 BLOCK] Savoy Street in reference to a physical domestic dispute. Upon arrival, Deputies made contact with the suspect, Albert Pearson, and the victim, [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

Deputy Justice spoke with [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who stated she and her adopted father (biological grandfather) were involved in a verbal dispute that turned physical. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she went to her room like Albert Pearson instructed her to do. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Albert Pearson followed her to her room and was continuously arguing and hollering at her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated when Albert Pearson came into her room, she pushed him and attempted to get him out of her room. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Albert Pearson then pushed her on her bed and got on top of her. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated Albert Pearson began hitting her in her face closed fisted and open handed. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she tried to get Albert Pearson off of her and tried to defend herself by biting Albert Pearson and scratching and striking him in the face area.

Deputy Gay spoke with Albert Pearson, who stated he and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were having a verbal altercation about school supplies that turned physical. Albert Pearson stated after having a lengthy verbal altercation, he advised [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to go to her room. Albert Pearson stated he followed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to her room. Albert Pearson stated [REDACTED BY AGENCY] grabbed him by the neck of his shirt, pulled him into the room, and bit him on his arm. Albert Pearson stated he then pushed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] onto her bed and he got on top of her. Albert Pearson stated he and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] began to engage in mutual combat until his wife, [WITNESS #1] broke up the altercation.

While speaking with Albert Pearson, he began to shake, passed out, and fell to the ground. Cpl. Cheillada and Deputy Gay were able to help assist Albert Pearson and placed him into a recovery position on the ground until Central EMS Med Unit 14 arrived on scene. Due to the fall, Albert Pearson sustained an injury to the back of his head and his knees/legs. Central EMS arrived on scene and transported Albert Pearson to the VA Hospital.

Deputy Gay spoke with [WITNESS #1], who stated Albert Pearson and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were having a verbal altercation. [WITNESS #1] stated she was speaking with [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in the kitchen area trying to calm the situation when Albert Pearson began hollering and advising [REDACTED BY AGENCY] that she needed to talk to him and not [WITNESS #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated Albert Pearson told [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to go to her room and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] eventually complied. [WITNESS #1] stated Albert Pearson then followed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to her room.

[WITNESS #1] stated she did not witness the beginning of the physical altercation, but heard [REDACTED BY AGENCY] telling Albert Pearson to get out of her room and to get off of her. [WITNESS #1] stated when she walked to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] room, she witnessed Albert Pearson on top of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] on the bed. [WITNESS #1] stated she witnessed Albert and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] strike each other. [WITNESS #1] stated she tried to get Albert Pearson off of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and he stated he would not get off of her until she calmed down. [WITNESS #1] stated she was finally able to get Albert and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to stop fighting.

Deputy Gay observed the injuries to [REDACTED BY AGENCY], which include: a bloody nose, a laceration to the inside of her lip, two (2) scratched on the right side of her face, and a bruise above and beside her right eye. Deputy Gay observed that there was some swelling to [REDACTED BY AGENCY] face near her right eye.

Deputy Gay observed the injuries to Albert Pearson, which included: a bite mark that was bleeding and was beginning to bruise on his right arm, a bite mark on his left hand near his pointer finger knuckle that was bleeding, and several scratches on his face and neck.

The injuries observed on Albert Pearson appeared to be defensive wounds that were sustained from [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and matched the statement given by [REDACTED BY AGENCY].

[REDACTED BY AGENCY] uncle, [REDACTED], arrived on scene and took possession of her with [WITNESS #1]’s permission. Albert Pearson was transported to the VA Hospital. A warrant was obtained against Albert Pearson for Cruelty to Children First Degree. Due to being transported to the hospital, Albert Pearson was not taken into custody at the time of the call.

Richmond County Sheriff’s Office CID Sergeant Dobbins was advised of the incident. Richmond Sheriff’s Office Records Clerk [REDACTED] was advised of the active warrant (not in custody).
