On 07/27/2026, at 1728 hours, Road Patrol deputies responded to [1500 BLOCK] Clay Street in reference to an altercation involving a firearm. Deputies located the victim, [VICTIM #1], who advised that she was involved in an altercation with her child’s father, Alquavious Merriweather, who pointed a firearm at her. Deputies located Alquavious Merriweather at the scene and detained him. Deputies also located a witness [WITNESS #1]. Road Patrol deputies contacted investigators to respond to the scene.
Investigator Clark arrived at the scene and made contact with [VICTIM #1], who advised that Alquavious Merriweather was the father of their 8-month-old son, [REDACTED]. [VICTIM #1] stated that Alquavious Merriweather arrived at [1500 BLOCK] Clay Street to drop off their son. [VICTIM #1] stated that Alquavious [Merriweather] left the residence and returned with items for the child. [VICTIM #1] stated that her and Alquavious [Merriweather] had been arguing and Alquavious [Merriweather] followed her inside and grabbed from behind causing her to fall. [VICTIM #1] stated that she believed she felt the firearm touching her back when Alquavious Merriweather followed her inside. [VICTIM #1] stated that Alquavious eventually pushed her onto a bed and was in possession of a handgun with a drum magazine. [VICTIM #1] stated that Alquavious Merriweather pointed the firearm at her and stated, “Stop playing with me”. [VICTIM #1] stated that another male, [REDACTED] stepped in to break up the altercation and took the firearm from Alquavious Merriweather. [VICTIM #1] stated she did not know were [REDACTED] put the firearm.
Investigator Clark then made contact with the witness, [WITNESS #1], who stated that [VICTIM #1] was her cousin. [WITNESS #1] stated that she witnessed [VICTIM #1] and Alquavious Merriweather in a physical altercation at which time [WITNESS #1] took the child from [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #1] stated that she witnessed Alquavious Merriweather point the firearm at [VICTIM #1]. [WITNESS #1] then stated that the firearm was a black handgun with a drum magazine.
Investigators attempted to speak to [REDACTED] who stated that he did not wish to provide a statement.
Investigators received written permission to search [1500 BLOCK] Clay Street and located multiple firearms underneath the house. Investigators then located a black Taurus PT111 Millennium G2 (SN:TKT71984), valued at $150, with a drum magazine in a cooler in the backyard. Investigators contacted [REDACTED] with Record’s Division who confirmed the firearm was stolen through Clayton County PD.
Investigators met with Alquavious Merriweather and completed a Miranda Warning Waiver. Alquavious Merriweather stated that he did not possess a firearm and that he was assaulted by the other subjects. Alquavious Merriweather stated that [REDACTED] was the subject in possession of the firearm during the incident.
Alquavious Merriweather was arrested and booked into CBWDC for Aggravated Assault (Family Violence), Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Theft by Receiving – Firearm.
