On Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 0744 hours, I, Deputy Diana Santiago, responded to [1100 BLOCK] 15th Street in reference to child abuse

When I arrived on the scene, I spoke with [WITNESS #1], who stated that her nephew, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] has been getting physically abused. [WITNESS #1] stated that her sister Chasney Turner’s boyfriend, Broderick Crawford, has been hitting [REDACTED BY AGENCY] with his hands as well as a belt. [WITNESS #1] stated that she has brought this to Chasney Turner’s attention, and she now tries to keep [REDACTED BY AGENCY] away from her and his grandmother, [WITNESS #2].

[WITNESS #1] stated that in May, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] had a busted lip and scratches to the left side of his face due to Crawford hitting him. [WITNESS #1] stated that when she talked to Chasney Turner about it, Chasney Turner defended Crawford’s action and stated that if [REDACTED BY AGENCY] needs discipline, then he does.

When I spoke with [WITNESS #2], she stated that her grandson, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] came to her and his aunt, [WITNESS #1], and said, “Dad (Crawford) doesn’t hit me with a belt anymore, he hits me with his hands now.” [WITNESS #2] stated she noticed brushes on [REDACTED BY AGENCY] left upper thigh and asked him how he got them. [WITNESS #2] [REDACTED BY AGENCY] said, “Dad (Crawford) hits me with his hands.”

[WITNESS #2] stated that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] has past scars and marks on him from when Crawford abused him with a belt. [WITNESS #2] stated she wants help for her grandson, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] [WITNESS #2] stated that Chasney Turner will keep [REDACTED BY AGENCY] away from the family every time he gets abused, and you can see the physical injuries until they heal.

I observed bruises on [REDACTED BY AGENCY] left upper thigh, as well as past lacerations on the back of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] legs and the lower right side of his back.

DFAC case worker [REDACTED] was notified, as well as Corporal Cheillada C21, who contacted CID Investigator Bale.
