On July 12, 2026, at 1714 hours, I, Deputy Brandon Griffin (Unit 107), responded to [1800 BLOCK] Fayetteville Dr. in reference to an aggravated assault.
Upon arrival, I met with Mr. [VICTIM #1] (VICTIM), who stated that he was inside Apartment [REDACTED] with his girlfriend, Ms. [VICTIM #2] (VICTIM), when a bullet came through the front living room window. Mr. [VICTIM #1] stated that neither he nor Ms. [VICTIM #2] was struck by the gunfire, but both were concerned for their safety. Ms. [VICTIM #2] stated that approximately two hours prior to the shooting, she heard two individuals arguing inthe apartment above them. Mr. [VICTIM #1] further stated that he observed a gray four-door vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed shortly after the shot was fired. I observed a spent projectile lying on the kitchen floor of the apartment.
I also made contact with Ms. [VICTIM #3] (VICTIM), who resides in Apartment [REDACTED]. Ms. [VICTIM #3] stated that a bullet came through her living room wall and lodged in the rear wall of the living room. She advised that her son, Mr. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (VICTIM), was inside the apartment when the bullet came through the wall. Neither Ms. [VICTIM #3] nor Mr. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] were struck by the gunfire.
I also made contact with Ms. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (VICTIM), who resides in Apartment [REDACTED]. Ms. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated that earlier in the day, her boyfriend, Mr. [VICTIM #4] (VICTIM), became involved in a heated verbal exchange with three unknown Black males. She further stated that she and Mr. [VICTIM #4] argued about the incident prior to the shooting. Mr. [VICTIM #4] was not on scene and was unavailable to be interviewed.
Criminal Investigation Division (CID) personnel arrived on scene and assumed responsibility for the investigation.
All victims were provided with the case number for this incident.
