On Tuesday, April 21st, 2026 at 1416 hours Deputies with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1237 Gordon Highway (BP Gas Station) in reference to a gunshot wound victim. Upon arrival, Deputies located a juvenile, later identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY], who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
The investigation determined that Deasia Williams drove her children, [REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY], [REDACTED BY AGENCY], and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] to 1237 Gordon Highway in her maroon 2006 Dodge Durango (GA: [REDACTED]). Deasia Williams entered the gas station briefly before exiting and returning to the vehicle. Deasia Williams and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] entered the gas station, leaving the remaining children in the vehicle unsupervised.
Upon exiting the gas station, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] approached Deasia Williams and advised that [REDACTED BY AGENCY] took the firearm and shot [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. During the interview with Deasia Williams, she stated that she knew she left the firearm in her purse in the vehicle with the children. Deasia Williams further stated that she knows her children go into her purse and that she should have taken the purse inside with her. Deasia Williams’ vehicle was later searched and a black Ruger LCP .380 handgun (SN: 379056366) was recovered. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] was transported to WellStar MCG (1120 15th Street) where he remains in critical condition.
Investigation turned over to Sergeant Tyler Steerman.
