On Monday, October 20th, 2025, at approximately 2230 hours, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to [2400 BLOCK] Nordahl Drive after Augusta Dispatch received a call regarding Domestic Violence. The caller advised dispatchers that her mother (Later identified as [VICTIM #1]) contacted her and asked her to call 9-1-1 because her brother (Later identified as Dumarcus Hilton) was making threats.
The caller told dispatchers that the address belonged to Dumarcus Hilton’s girlfriend (Later identified as [VICTIM #2]) and that she was possibly in danger. The caller advised dispatchers that she could hear her mother in the background, begging Dumarcus Hilton not to do anything and that he was acting erratic. The caller also told dispatchers that she feared her brother was armed with a firearm and he would not let her mother talk on the phone.
While Deputies were en route to the location, Augusta Dispatch received a second call from the original complainant who advised that [VICTIM #1] had made it out of the residence with the children after he held them hostage with a gun. The caller further advised that [VICTIM #1] had driven to a nearby Dollar store before contacting her to advised that [VICTIM #2] was still being held hostage in the residence.
Upon arrival, Richmond County Sheriff’s Deputies made contact at the residence when Dumarcus Hilton emerged from the residence with a handgun. During the contact, [VICTIM #2] was released and allowed to exit the residence by Dumarcus Hilton. Dumarcus Hilton then tossed the handgun on the ground in front of Deputies. When Deputies ordered Dumarcus Hilton to surrender, he then ran back into the residence. Deputies secured the handgun and after a brief period, Dumarcus Hilton surrendered himself from the residence and he was taken into custody.
Investigators later arrived on the scene and spoke with [VICTIM #2] and [VICTIM #1]. [VICTIM #2] stated that she was in a relationship with Dumarcus Hilton, and he recently moved into the residence a few weeks ago. [VICTIM #2] stated that at approximately 2145 hours, she was giving her 1-year-old baby (Later identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY]) a bath. [VICTIM #2] stated that while bathing her daughter, she took a picture of her to send to her Aunt in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania via text. [VICTIM #2] stated that Dumarcus Hilton saw her sending a picture, and he thought he observed a male’s name as the recipient of the photo. [VICTIM #2] stated that Dumarcus Hilton then got irate and began accusing her of infidelity, before assaulting her.
[VICTIM #2] stated she was pushed around by Dumarcus Hilton, so she asked for “Siri” to contact 9-1-1 through her iPhone. [VICTIM #2] stated that Dumarcus Hilton then began violently choking her to prevent her from contacting emergency services. [VICTIM #2] stated she was able to get free and flee to the bedroom to retrieve her firearm which was determined to be a SCCY CPX-2 9mm Handgun (S/N: C113340 Value: $300.00). [VICTIM #2] stated that when she grabbed her firearm, Dumarcus Hilton violently snatched it from her and then began to threaten to kill her with the gun. [VICTIM #2] stated Dumarcus Hilton then held her at gunpoint inside the bedroom, not allowing her to leave.
[VICTIM #2] stated she then ran out of the residence, leaving [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and her other two children, who were asleep, inside. [VICTIM #2] stated she got into her vehicle and called the mother of Dumarcus Hilton ([VICTIM #1]). [VICTIM #2] stated Dumarcus Hilton then came out of the door carrying [REDACTED BY AGENCY] over his shoulder “like a bag of ice.”
[VICTIM #2] stated that Dumarcus then pointed the firearm at her while she was inside the vehicle and demanded that she come back inside. [VICTIM #2] stated that Dumarcus Hilton then pointed the firearm at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] head while holding her. [VICTIM #2] stated that Dumarcus Hilton then threatened [VICTIM #2] that if she did not come back inside, he would kill [REDACTED BY AGENCY] in front of her, and then he would kill her.
[VICTIM #2] stated that when getting out of the car and walking back inside, Dumarcus Hilton then demanded that they leave together in the vehicle. [VICTIM #2] stated that Dumarcus Hilton then got into the driver’s seat, after he forced her into the passenger seat with [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [VICTIM #2] stated that a few moments later, [VICTIM #1] arrived at the residence.
[VICTIM #1] stated that when she arrived, she ran into the residence looking for both Dumarcus Hilton and [VICTIM #2]. [VICTIM #1] stated that they both got out of the vehicle and entered the residence. [VICTIM #1] stated that when Dumarcus entered the residence, he locked the door and pulled out a handgun. [VICTIM #1] advised that Dumarcus Hilton then made threats to kill everyone inside the residence while holding the gun. [VICTIM #1] then advised that Dumarcus Hilton pointed the gun at her as well as [VICTIM #2] while stating that he was going to kill them.
[VICTIM #1] stated she was eventually able to persuade Dumarcus Hilton into allowing her to leave with the children. [VICTIM #1] stated that before leaving, Dumarcus Hilton removed the magazine from the firearm and gave it to her. [VICTIM #1] advised that she didn’t know where Dumarcus Hilton got the gun, but she knew he was a Convicted Felon that often used illicit narcotics such as methamphetamine.
[VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] stated that Dumarcus Hilton then said that he was going to have a shootout with law enforcement when they arrived, or he was going to kill himself. [VICTIM #2] stated that when law enforcement arrived on scene, she ran out of the residence towards the Deputies.
Investigators later contacted the Richmond County Records Division and obtained a criminal history on Dumarcus Hilton. Investigators learned that Dumarcus Hilton was a Convicted Felon. Dumarcus Hilton was first convicted in 2005, for a Burglary within Aiken County, South Carolina.
Dumarcus Hilton refused to give a statement. Dumarcus Hilton was booked into CBWDC under the listed charges and warrants were obtained before they were turned over to the Records Bureau.
The investigation was turned over to Inv. Tanner Baughman.
