On 11/06/2025 at approximately 2027 hours, I Deputy James Jackson (405) was dispatched to 2624 Deans Bridge Road (McDonald’s) regarding an Arson.

When I arrived on scene, Augusta FD Engine 11 was extinguishing the fire, and a black male was sitting near the dumpster that was on fire. The male, identified as Frederick Wiley (suspect), began to walk toward me. Wiley said he started the dumpster fire, and he wanted to be taken to Georgia Regional. Wiley was detained and placed in my patrol car. While in my patrol car, Wiley kept mentioning another person, but could not make a coherent sentence. When asked what he was saying, Wiley would not cooperate other than “I set the fire”.

I then spoke to [WITNESS #1] (complainant), the on-duty manager for McDonald’s (victim). [WITNESS #1] said he could not access the business cameras, but he had video on his phone of the dumpster fire and Wiley sitting beside it. This video was recorded onto my body-worn camera.

Wiley was arrested for Arson in the 2nd Degree, and was then transported and booked into CBWDC. Warrants were applied for and granted under the charge of Arson in the 1st Degree. The warrant charge will be corrected at the time of indictment, per the District Attorney’s Office . Records Clerk [REDACTED] confirmed receiving the warrant.
