On Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 2331 hours, Deputy J. Strain and Deputy R. Borders responded to [4400 BLOCK] Kissing Bower Rd in reference to an aggravated assault.

Upon arrival, deputies contacted the victim, [VICTIM #1], who was suffering from head injuries. The investigation revealed that, before deputies arrived, [VICTIM #1] and the suspect, his brother, Jose Lemus, had been sitting at the kitchen table with family. They drank beer, then, after consuming alcohol, began arguing about work.

As the argument escalated, the suspect picked up a beer glass cup and struck the victim once in the head, resulting in actively bleeding lacerations. Med Unit 18 arrived to provide medical care and transported the victim to WellStar Hospital. Following this, deputies conducted a follow-up to deliver Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s identification from the scene. There, he received up to 20 staples for lacerations in two separate areas of his head.

After the scene was secured, Deputy Rodriguez read the suspect his Miranda Rights, which he acknowledged and consented. The suspect agreed to speak with deputies and admitted to striking the victim with the beer glass cup after the argument escalated. Deputies then documented the scene, photographing the victim’s injuries and the glass cup, and uploaded the photographs to Evidence.com. CID Sgt Brown was notified, and a warrant was approved records [REDACTED] was notified.
