On Sunday, May 25, 2025, at 0723 hours, I, Deputy Devante Brown (226), was dispatched to [3600 BLOCK] Madrid Dr N in reference to an aggravated assault.

When I arrived on the scene, Deputy Christopher Rabun (222) and I made contact with Mark Johnson (suspect) in the backyard, as he was exiting the residence. M. Johnson matched the suspect description given to us by dispatch, and he was detained. I entered the home and made contact with both [WITNESS #1] (complainant) and [VICTIM #1] (victim). [VICTIM #1] was lying on his back in the hallway near the bathroom, while [WITNESS #1] was kneeling over him, pressing a towel down on his chest. [WITNESS #1] stated that M. Johnson had shot [VICTIM #1] in the chest.

Central Med 13 arrived and transported [VICTIM #1] to Doctors Hospital for his injuries.

I spoke with [WITNESS #1], and she stated that the incident occurred due to a dispute between M. Johnson and [VICTIM #1]. The circuit breaker to the residence is located in [VICTIM #1]’s room. [WITNESS #1] stated that he was intoxicated and had been turning multiple switches on and off. M. Johnson became upset and confronted [VICTIM #1] while he was in the hallway. [WITNESS #1] stated that she was sitting in the living room when she heard a loud noise and saw [VICTIM #1] fall to the floor. [WITNESS #1] stated that she confiscated a handgun from M. Johnson and secured it in the hallway room closet. I did observe the firearm in the hallway closet.

The scene was secured until investigator Britney Moore (712) arrived. The scene was turned over to CID.

M. Johnson was transported to CID by Deputy Rabun.
