On 09/23/2026 at 1502 hours, Deputies with the Richmond County Sheriffs Office responded to the area of Central Avenue and Stovall Street in reference to a traffic accident. Upon arrival, Deputies located both parties of the accident. The driver of the 2004 gray in color Honda Accord bearing an Arkansas tag of [REDACTED] was identified as [VICTIM #1], and the driver of the 2018 black in color Kia Forte bearing a Georgia tag of [REDACTED] was identified as Markita Montgomery.
Markita Montgomery spontaneously uttered to Deputies on scene that she purposely hit [VICTIM #1] with her vehicle. Deputies observed Markita Montgomery had two juveniles in the back seat of the vehicle, who were identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (2 YR OLD) and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (7 YR OLD). Both juveniles were positioned facing forward and witnessed Markita Montgomery strike [VICTIM #1].
Inv. Meyers interviewed Markita Montgomery, who stated after the vehicle accident, she chased [VICTIM #1] via her vehicle and struck him.
The investigation was turned over to Inv. Monga.
