On October 27, 2025 at approximately 2309 hours I, Deputy Daniel Gunn (431) was dispatched to [2500 BLOCK] Spirit Creek Road in reference to a GSW one down.

Upon arrival Dep. Gunn located [VICTIM #1] (victim) in the driveway walking towards the roadway from the residence. Dep. Gunn observed that [VICTIM #1] had an apparent gunshot wound to the lower right inner calf area. Dep. Gunn observed that it appeared to be an entry only wound with no exit wound.

Dep. Gunn asked [VICTIM #1] what happened, and he advised that a male named Maurice (NOD) came up to him and presented a gun. [VICTIM #1] then advised that he backed up to the porch area at the front of the residence and was shot in the lower calf area of his right leg. [VICTIM #1] would not advise why he was shot, and advised that Maurice lived at [2500 BLOCK] Teakwood Drive, and that he was last seen on foot going west on Spirit Creek Road.

Dep. Gunn put the information out over the county issued radio and advised other responding units. Dep. Gunn further obsevered multiple unsecured windows to the residence, and observed that the side door had a broken window with glass on the ground. Dep. Gunn further observed a black dog inside of the residence. Dep. Gunn and other responding units cleared the residence.

Dep. Gunn observed in the west portion of the residence a trail of blood in the hallway from the center bedroom. Dep. Gunn asked [VICTIM #1] if the dog belonged to him or if he knew who the dog belonged to. [VICTIM #1] advised that he did not know and that it did not belong to him.

CID Sergeant Joshua Evans (B71) was advised and responded to the scene. Dep. Gunn turned the case over to Sgt. Evans. AC3 [REDACTED] secured the k9 located in the residence.
