On 12 January, 2026 at 2037 hours I, Deputy Dawson Dowdy (302P), and Deputy Brandon Watson (302) were dispatched to [600 BLOCK] Wallace St in reference to a domestic dispute.

Upon arrival, Deputies observed a white male later identified as the victim [VICTIM #1], standing near the edge of the road with dried blood on his hand with apparent stab wounds on the left arm near the under arm.

Deputies spoke with [VICTIM #1] who stated that he and his wife (Melanie McGee) were in a verbal altercation in the back bedroom of the residence over her having an affair. [VICTIM #1] advised that the children were in the room at the time of the verbal altercation, and he sent them out due to the argument. [VICTIM #1] stated that he was standing near the foot of the bed, and that Melanie was laying on the right side of the bed.

[VICTIM #1] further stated that during the argument, Melanie grabbed a knife from the table beside the bed and went to stab near his face and neck area. At this point [VICTIM #1] stated he lifted his arm to protect his face and neck area and got stabbed multiple times in the left arm.

I, Deputy Dawson Dowdy, then detained Melanie from inside the residence after calling her outside. Deputy Brandon Watson read her the Miranda Warning under the carport of the residence, at which point she agreed to speak with Deputies.

Melanie stated that her an [VICTIM #1] are in the process of getting a divorce, and that she has a current boyfriend. Melanie stated that [VICTIM #1] came into the bedroom, where her and the children were, requesting sex. Melanie stated that she declined, and that [VICTIM #1] became aggressive with her and threatened to stab himself. Melanie stated that during a brief period of arguing, that [VICTIM #1] grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed himself.

The children were turned over to grandparents who arrived shortly after Deputies. A silver in color kitchen knife, turned in under property receipt #551199, was located in a chair under the carport with dried blood on it. Central EMS arrived on scene at which [VICTIM #1] declined treatment for the stab wounds.

Sgt. Tawasi Neal (B47) was notified in reference to the stabbing. Sgt. Neal arrived on scene and notified CID Sgt. Stephen Brown who advised that he would approve the warrants and to transport Melanie to the CBWDC.

Deputies looked through the residence to establish a crime scene, but were unable to locate any evidence of blood in the area. Pictures of injury and the knife are attached to this report (4 total). Warrants applied for and obtained. Warrants received by [REDACTED] in Records. Warrants sent to CBWDC.
