On Thursday, June 26th, 2025 at 0006 hours Deputy Mcintire (305) responded to [1400 BLOCK] Poplar Street in reference to a sexual assault.

Upon arrival, Deputies spoke with [VICTIM #1] who stated she went to [1400 BLOCK] Poplar Street to hang out with her child’s father [WITNESS #1] and stated that she got extremely intoxicated and fell asleep. [VICTIM #1] then told Deputies that while she was asleep, she felt her pants being pulled down and someone penetrating her vag*nally.

[VICTIM #1] advised Deputies that when she woke up she observed Michael Dobbs (Suspect) walking away from the bedroom where she was asleep with no pants on and only a white wife beater.

Deputies then spoke with Dobbs at which point he advised [VICTIM #1] was his roommate’s friend and then confirmed that [WITNESS #1] left the house on his bike and came back. Deputies asked Dobbs if anything happened in the house before [WITNESS #1] came back to which he replied, “Not that I know of”. Deputies then asked if anything happened between Dobbs and [VICTIM #1] to which Dobbs replied that they talked.

Deputies then advised Dobbs of his Miranda rights, and he agreed to speak with Deputies, Deputies asked Dobbs if he touched [VICTIM #1], to which he replied he “tried to wake her up” and Deputies asked him how he tried to wake her up to which he replied “I shook her leg”.

Deputies then asked if Dobbs took her clothes off or physically penetrated [VICTIM #1] and he deflected by stating “Like I said I’m going through a divorce, and I don’t violate women”. Dobbs stated that [WITNESS #1] told him [VICTIM #1] was asleep, and he stated after [WITNESS #1] left he went to check on her to make sure she was alright.

Deputies then asked Dobbs if he took [VICTIM #1]’s clothes off, or penetrated her to which he replied,” I don’t want to say anything that is going to incriminate me”. Dobbs then stated, “I really don’t know what’s going on”, so Deputies asked him if he wished to continue answering questions or if he wanted to stop. Dobbs told Deputies “That between a rock and a hard place right there bruh, I could say some stuff that could lock me up”. Dobbs did not provide any more information and Deputies stopped asking him questions.

Deputies then spoke with [WITNESS #1] who told Deputies that he was at the house hanging out with his child’s mother, and there was no one else at the residence so they were getting drunk and chilling. [WITNESS #1] told Deputies that they then had intercourse, and afterward, [VICTIM #1] went to sleep.

[WITNESS #1] told the Deputies that it was not long after that Dobbs came home, so [WITNESS #1] went and told Dobbs that he was going to his brother’s house to pick up some money and that [VICTIM #1] was drunk, so he should not mess with her and should not let anyone else mess with her. [WITNESS #1] told Deputies he left and made it somewhere around Mike Padgett Highway and Peach Orchard before he received a call from [VICTIM #1] stating, “This man on top of me, he raped me”. [WITNESS #1] advised that it was at this time that he rushed home, and they called the S.O.

[VICTIM #1] was transported to AUMC by ambulance to receive sexual assault testing.

Sgt. DiGiacomo (B-30) was notified.
Sgt. Brown (B-80) in RCSO CID was notified.
BWC’s were used to record.
BWC video was tagged at the scene.
The investigation was turned over to CID.
