[NARRATIVE #1 on June 15, 2026]

On Monday, June 15, 2026, at approximately 1740 hours, I, Deputy Trisha Hoffman (213), responded to 3960 Wrightsboro Road (The Finish Line) in reference to a child abuse complaint.

Upon arrival, I approached a dark blue 2025 Jeep Wrangler (GA Tag #{REDACTED]) and immediately observed three small children inside the vehicle who were sweating. The children were later identified as [REDACTED BY AGENCY] age 7 (Juvenile/Victim); [REDACTED BY AGENCY] age 7 (Juvenile/Victim); and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] age 2 (Juvenile/Victim).

I asked the children where their mother was, and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated, “Our mothers are inside.” I then asked how long their mothers had been inside, and the children stated they did not know.

I entered the business and observed Nykesha Grant (Arrested) and Mikala Grant (Arrested) sitting in the bar area. I asked whose Jeep was outside with the three children inside, and Nykesha stated it belonged to her. I asked how long the children had been outside, and she stated she did not know but claimed it had not been long. I advised Nykesha that I had been told the children had been in the vehicle for over two hours. Nykesha denied this. Nykesha also admitted to consuming alcoholic beverages.

I then escorted Nykesha outside, placed her in handcuffs, and secured her in the rear of my patrol vehicle.

I then spoke with Mikala, who stated that at approximately 1530 hours she had left a doctor’s office on Peach Orchard Road and received a text message from Nykesha asking her to come to the listed location. Mikala stated she arrived at approximately 1600 hours and remained inside talking with others. She stated she checked on her child, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] twice.

I advised Mikala that it was now 1740 hours and that, based on her stated arrival time, she had been at the location for approximately one hour and forty minutes while her child remained in a non-running vehicle with Nykesha’s children, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Mikala stated she had not been there that long and claimed people kept talking to her and asking about her outfit. I advised Mikala that her child’s welfare was more important than remaining inside a bar discussing her outfit.

During my conversation with Mikala, I noticed she repeatedly made the same statements. I asked whether she had consumed any alcoholic beverages, and she stated that she had. Mikala further stated that she and Nykesha had recently lost their grandmother and were going through a difficult time. She also stated that the reason Nykesha was at the listed location was to deliver money to an unknown male.

After speaking with Mikala, I placed her in handcuffs and secured her in the rear of my patrol vehicle.

I then spoke with bartender [WITNESS #1] (Other), who stated she observed the vehicle arrive at approximately 1530 hours and had seen it remain there since that time. [WITNESS #1] also stated she observed Nykesha exit the vehicle and enter the business.

[WITNESS #1] escorted me to the office, where I reviewed surveillance footage. The footage showed Nykesha arriving at approximately 1527 hours and remaining in the vehicle for approximately five minutes before exiting and entering the business. The footage further showed Mikala arriving at approximately 1600 hours in an unknown Honda. Nykesha met Mikala outside the vehicle. Mikala then removed [REDACTED BY AGENCY] from her vehicle and placed the child into the rear driver’s-side seat of Nykesha’s Jeep before entering the business with Nykesha.

The surveillance footage will be uploaded through Axon Evidence.

I then contacted DFCS, and [REDACTED] responded to the scene and spoke with the three children, as well as both Mikala and Nykesha. Both Mikala and Nykesha were transported to RCJ on the listed charges.

The three children were subsequently released to their grandmother, [REDACTED] (Other).

A warrant was taken out on the listed charges and Records Clerk [REDACTED].

[NARRATIVE #2 on June 16, 2026]

On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at approximately 1300 hours, I, Deputy Trisha Hoffman (213), responded to 3960 Wrightsboro Road (Finish Line) in reference to a follow-up investigation.

Upon arrival, I spoke with the manager on duty, [REDACTED], regarding obtaining video footage. He advised that his daughter, [WITNESS #1], who has access to the footage, would not return until Thursday. I then recorded the available video footage with my phone and uploaded it to Axon Evidence.

I also contacted [WITNESS #1] via telephone and sent her an Axon Evidence link so she could upload the footage upon her return to the listed location.
