On Saturday, March 14th, 2026 at 0059 hours, I Deputy Tyler Holland located a stolen vehicle which was a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek bearing a temporary Georgia License Plate of [REDACTED] ($18,000.00). The stolen vehicle left the parking lot of [2100 BLOCK] Walton Way (Bonair Apartments) and made a left turn onto Hickman Rd.
I observed the vehicle make a left turn onto Cummings Rd and then a right turn onto Milledge Rd. I Deputy Tyler Holland engaged my emergency blue lights on my marked patrol vehicle, attempting a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle. The Driver/arrestee (Travis Brown) failed to stop for emergency blue lights and attempted to flee by accelerating at a high rate of speed.
Brown made a left turn onto Gardner St, accelerating to speeds of approximately sixty miles per hour in twenty-five miles per hours zone with speed bumps. Brown crossed over Johns Rd and continued straight onto Gardner St where he continued straight at speeds of approximately speeds of fifty-seven miles per hour in a twenty-five miles per hour zone.
Brown then made a left turn onto Montgomery St, and then an immediate left onto Mt Auburn St where Brown continued to attempt elude Law Enforcement by traveling at speeds of fifty-five miles per hour on Mt Auburn St and then made a right turn onto Hartford St and then made an immediate right onto Cummings Rd, reaching speeds of approximately fifty miles per hour.
Brown then made a right onto Katherine St and an immediate left onto Mt Auburn St. Brown then made an immediate right turn back onto Montgomery St and then another immediate right turn back onto Gardner St. Brown then made a right turn into the rear parking lot of 2359 Mt Auburn St (Elim Baptist Church), traveling through the grass, jumping a curb and then back through another front yard of the listed address. Deputies pursued through the parking lot.
I observed Brown made a left turn onto Mt Auburn St, where Brown exited the vehicle at [2300 BLOCK] Mt Auburn St where he fled from the vehicle on foot, Northbound through a wooded area back towards Gardner St. Deputies created a perimeter and contacted Deputy Mclure K-1.
Deputy William Mclure, K-1 responded to the scene where he conducted a track with his K9. The K9 tracked back to Gardner St where we were successfully able to apprehend Brown on the rear porch of [2300 BLOCK] Gardner St.
While being placed into handcuffs, Brown stated that he was homeless and he was sleeping there, but was out of breath, had scratches on his face from running through the woods, and briars in his pants. While being escorted back to the patrol vehicle, Travis Brown kept stating “its the lady across the streets” multiple times. Deputies placed Brown in the back of a marked patrol vehicle and conducted a search of the stolen vehicle. Deputies located a red backpack on the passenger floor board containing prescription medication with Travis Browns name on them.
Travis Brown was placed under arrest for the listed charges and warrants were applied for and obtained on Travis Brown. Brown was escorted and committed to The Charles B Webster Detention Center under the listed charge.
Deputy Aaron Digiacomo T-14 arrived on scene for a DUI evaluation and who also issued eight citations, and the motorvehicle crash that occurred after Brown exited the vehicle while the stolen vehicle was still in drive. The stolen vehicle rolled down a hill striking another vehicle in front of [2300 BLOCK] Mt Auburn St.
The stolen vehicle was inventoried by Deputy Digiacomo T-14 and was towed by the list wrecker service Chastain’s Towing. The citations, inventory sheet, and claim check were turned into 400 Walton Way.
I contacted RCSO Records Clerk [REDACTED] who contacted Statesboro PD where the vehicle was stolen from which was a dealer ship called Jarrard Pre Owned Vehicles located at 2330 Northside Dr W. The vehicle was recovered and removed from GCIC/NCIC on todays date and time.
I attempted to contact the business but was unable to make contact to notify them the vehicle was recovered. Investigator Sgt Brown B-80 arrived on scene who approved the warrants for felony theft by receiving. Warrants were received by RCSO Records Clerk [REDACTED].
