On 07/20/2022 at approximately 1940 hours, I Deputy Smith (4302) along with Deputy Tillman (4201) responded to 1700 block of Fairwood Drive in reference to several calls about shots being fired.
Upon arrival Deputies observed a 2020 blue in color Toyota Camry with a GA Tag of [REDACTED] with several shell casings laying on the ground next to it. I observed the Camry passenger side mirror was broken and laying on the ground, I also observed that the front windshield had two small shatter marks on the inside of the window. I made contact with the owner of the vehicle, [VICTIM #1] who stated that he heard several shots shortly before deputies arrived.
I then observed a 2018 red in color Toyota Camry with a bullet hole in the rear driver side window and a bullet hole above the driver side just above the gas tank. I then made contact with the owner, [VICTIM #2] who stated that he heard several shots but could not tell if they were fireworks or not. I then located several more shell casings in the yard of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Fairwood Drive.
I was then notified by [VICTIM #3] of [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Fairwood Court that a bullet had struck the left side window of her residence as well as the rear windshield of her vehicle. I observed a 2011 black in color Dodge Avenger with a GA Tag of [REDACTED] with a shattered rear windshield. I then observed a multi paned window on the left side of the residence that had a single bullet hole in the right side. [VICTIM #3] advised that her son, [VICTIM #4] was also in the residence at the time it had been struck.
Deputies then spoke to the residents at [REDACTED BY AGENCY] Fairwood Court that advised that the following subject were in the residence at the time it was struck. [VICTIM #5] (Victim), [VICTIM #6] (Victim), [VICTIM #7] (Victim), [VICTIM #8] (Victim), [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (Victim), [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (Victim), [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (Victims), [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (Victim) and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (Victim). Each resident of the home advised that they heard approximately four shots.
Deputies discovered a hole in a single pane window on the left side of the house. Deputies then discovered that a single round had traveled through five separate walls inside the residence. None of the subjects received any injuries. I contacted Cpl Smith (C41) who then contacted CID. The scene was turned over to Investigator Brown (724). All parties were advised of services.
