On 02132026, Deputy Alton Miller was dispatched to [1100 BLOCK] Dantiagnac St in reference to a shot being fired in the area. [VICTIM #1] (victim) informed dispatch that an unknown subject shot eight rounds into his house, damaging the front window.

Upon arrival, Deputy Miller was able to contact [VICTIM #1], who invited Deputy Miller inside. While walking into the residence, I witnessed that the front of the house was damaged. Once inside, I was informed that there were four kids in the house. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (victim), hiding inside the bathroom, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (victim) was inside his room sleeping, [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (victim) was inside her room on the floor, and [REDACTED BY AGENCY] (victim) was inside [VICTIM #1]’s room sleeping.

While inside the house, I saw a hole in the wall leading into [REDACTED BY AGENCY] room. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she was inside her room sleeping when she heard the gunshot, and a round traveled into her room. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] stated she ran out of the room into the bathroom for cover.

[VICTIM #1] stated he was getting ready for work when he heard a loud notice coming from the front of the house. [VICTIM #1] stated he went to investigate and saw that his front window was damaged and heard gun shot following. [VICTIM #1] stated he did not see the subject, but saw a vehicle. [VICTIM #1] stated the vehicle was yellow but did not know the make or model. [VICTIM #1] stated he does have a ring camera near the front door but it did not capture the incident.

I searched the area but did not locate any cartridge casings.

I contacted CID and informed Sgt Evans of the incident. CID came out to the scene to conduct further investigation.

I issued a case card and informed the subject that a report would be documented. The case was turn over to CID.
