On February 18th, 2025, at approximately 1244 hours. I Investigator J. Fallin #3057 with Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office. I received a hit from Flock Safety of a wanted person in the area of Stanton Rd and Honey Creek. I was at Rockdale County south side precinct on Ga 20 and Honey Creek when I got the notification. It was a Red in color Nissan Altima tag bearing [REDACTED]. The vehicle come’s back to the suspect’s mother. I was able to confirm Aubrey Shane Dobbs driving the vehicle. When he drove past me the driver’s side window was down. I could tell it was Mr. Dobbs, a White male with locks in his hair. He was wanted for Hit & Run and Following too closely since December of 2024. He was heading down GA 20 towards Newton County.

I immediately activated my emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop for a wanted person. While I was informing the radio station of my location at GA 20 passing Quick Stop and vehicle information. He kept on GA 20 at normal speeds which led me to believe he was trying to find a safe place to pull over. As we are still traveling South on Ga 20. He came up behind an 18-wheeler and proceeded to turn into the right turning lane off GA 20 and Stone Creek Drive, as if he was going to stop or go into the subdivision. As I attempt to get out of my vehicle, that’s when Mr. Dobbs looked out the window at me and shook his head NO and took off in the vehicle. In the process of Mr. Dobbs fleeing, he ran into my front passenger bumper, hitting me and getting on the wrong side of the road to get around the 18-wheeler t flee from law enforcement.

Mr. Dobbs took Sheriff deputies on a chase leading from Ga 20 to Oak Hill Dr in Newton County. Mr. Dobbs led deputies to [700 BLOCK] Oak Hill Rd. Where he exits the vehicle with his hands up. Mr. Dobbs was told to get on the ground and place his hands behind his back. He complied with all commands given to him. When asked why he didn’t stop back on Ga 20 he stated, “He wanted to get the car home because every time he see the police he know he’s going to jail.”

Mr. Dobbs was placed under arrest by Investigator Fallin and transported to jail by Deputy Pollard. Before being transported in the County vehicle he was searched for any weapons. He was handed over to jail staff without any issues. Mr. Dobbs is charge with Driving while License is Suspended, Aggravated Assault, and Wanted person located.
