On 03/02/2025, at approximately 1835 hours, I responded to a call regarding a refusal to leave at [1100 BLOCK] Sigman Rd, Conyers, GA 30012. Upon arrival, I spoke with the victim, Mr. [VICTIM #1], who advised that he had been involved in a verbal dispute with the offender, Ms. Jakiyah Durrah.
During my investigation, I detected the odor of alcohol on both Ms. Durrah’s and Mr. [VICTIM #1]’s breath. Both parties confirmed that they had been drinking during their dispute. They were located outside the apartment complex, at the rear of the residence.
I first spoke with Ms. Durrah, who stated that she had been in a physical altercation with Mr. [VICTIM #1]. I observed a bruise on her eye and asked how she had sustained it. She initially claimed that Mr. [VICTIM #1] had caused the bruise a few days prior to this incident. However, after being arrested, she changed her story and stated that the bruise had occurred that day but that she had initially lied because she did not want anyone to be arrested.
As I attempted to de-escalate the situation, Ms. Durrah became irate and began using profanity toward me, multiple other deputies, and Mr. [VICTIM #1].
I then spoke with Mr. [VICTIM #1], who denied causing the bruise on Ms. Durrah. He repeatedly stated that he simply wanted Ms. Durrah to leave his residence. I explained to both parties that this was a civil matter and that Mr. [VICTIM #1] would need to file for an eviction.
When I instructed Ms. Durrah to return inside the residence, she refused. I attempted to explain the seriousness of public intoxication, but she ignored my warnings. She then approached me within arm’s length while continuing to act disorderly on her way back to the residence. As she proceeded toward the residence, I followed her inside and placed her in handcuffs.
Ms. Durrah then began resisting arrest, prompting another deputy to draw his taser for compliance, though it was not deployed. Once secured in handcuffs, she was placed in my patrol vehicle and transported to the Rockdale County Jail without further incident. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] She then became involved in an incident with the jail staff, after which it was determined that she needed medical clearance from the hospital.
I transported Ms. Durrah to Piedmont Rockdale Hospital without incident. While at the hospital, she continued to threaten to kill her boyfriend multiple times, repeating the same statement to the charge nurse. She also became disorderly, shouting profanities at medical staff and calling them derogatory names. Warrants will be obtained.
