I, Deputy Johnson, was dispatched to a fight at 1800 Dogwood Dr: BJ’s wholesale on 3/9/25 approximately at 15:13 hours.

Upon arrival Deputies were about to make contact with Mr. Khalid Shakur in his white F-150 on Dogwood Dr, while he was attempting to leave the store. When approaching Mr. Khalid I noticed he had a bump/knot on the top of his right eyebrow and declined medical attention. I spoke with Khalid, he advised that he was in line by the exit getting his receipt checked, when a black male and female skipped the line. Mr. Khalid advised he stated to the unidentified subject that they cannot skip the line. He also advised to me that the male subject confronted him and begin to fight him. He stated that the female begins to hit him as well. He stated that he subjects fled the scene in a black Audi. Mr. Khalid was detained until further information could be gathered.

I spoke with the store manager Ms. [WITNESS #1] she advised to me that both Mr. Khalid and the other unidentified male were arguing in the entrance of the store. She stated that the unidentified male and female begin to jump Mr. [KHALID]. I asked Ms. [WITNESS #1] if she was able to pull up the unidentified subjects card information from the purchase, they made in the store, she stated she cannot.

Ms. [WITNESS #1] was able to provide video footage. In the footage, both male subjects were arguing going back and forth. There were employees that got in between Mr. Khalid and the other subject to attempt to separate the males. Mr. Khalid jerked his body in an aggressive manner. Mr. Khalid threw the first strike at the unidentified subject. Both males begin to fight, and the unidentified female was also striking Mr. Khalid. As the fight progressed the subjects got out of the view of the camera. After reviewing the video footage, it was determined Mr. Khalid was the primary aggressor. He was searched, placed in handcuffs that were doubled locked, and placed in the back of my patrol vehicle.

Mr. Khalid advised that he had a handgun in his vehicle that was collected and placed into property and evidence at the sheriff’s office. Statement forms were collected on scene.

Mr. Khalid was transported to Rockdale County jail, issued a magistrate citation and turned over to jail staff.
