On 02/19/25 at or around 0114 hours a call for service was dispatched to my zone for a Domestic with injuries. Per the call notes it was a male subject at the location, with a knife cutting a female in the residence. Once on scene, I arrived at [800 BLOCK] Tall Oaks circle, the upstairs apartment on the right-hand side. Once there I can hear the commotion of what seemed like an argument actively going on. I along with Deputies, Anderson and Sgt Thomas made contact at the front by knocking, and once the door open, there was a black female standing in a white night gown, and black male sitting down, on a couch, with no shirt and one shoe on. Being that the male was the described subject armed, the male was led out by taser point and handcuffed to the rear double locked and placed in the back of my patrol car.

Once secured, I asked my supervisor, if I needed to mirandize the male or let our Criminal Investigations Unit had the case being that it was of an aggravated nature. Corporal Dunn and Lieutenant Best agreed to work on the case. Once getting that confirmation, I then went to my patrol car to interview the black male later to be identified as [VICTIM #1], who lives at the address. Prior to asking any questions, [VICTIM #1] was read his Miranda rights being that he was handcuffed in the back of my car and not free to leave the scene. Prior to speaking to [VICTIM #1], I observed that he had significant marks on his body, one his head was a knot the size of grape, his ribs were cut on his hands were cut, his back had bite marks, as well as wounds where he was hit. I mirandized [VICTIM #1] which I had to explain to him twice what they were, and [VICTIM #1] agreed to speak, I asked him his name which he responded, [VICTIM #1], and his birthdate which he advised me what it was. [VICTIM #1] with a sound mind stated the following, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]

Prior to talking to the spouse of [VICTIM #1] who was later identified as KRISTA LAWAYNA NORMAN of the above address, Deputy Anderson spoke with Norman, while I went through the home to observe signs of a struggle. I could not see any signs of a struggle being the apartment was in a disarray. Once I did my walk through the home, I then went back to Norman to see what occurred in the home. I asked Norman to identify the weapon used, which she said, a kitchen knife, with a black handle. I then located the knife in the kitchen sink and began taking pictures of the area which related to the incident.

I then asked Norman what occurred at the home during the incident that happened at the apartment. The following is what Norman advised, she advised that [VICTIM #1] was making advances and pushing into the bedroom door where he sleeps, and Norman didn’t want him in the room. She advised that [VICTIM #1] then punched her in the head. Norman did admit that [VICTIM #1] and herself fell while fighting, she said that she began to punch and scratch him as if they were on the ground. Norman then advises that after the physical altercation [VICTIM #1] has possession of the knife and that’s when she called 911 emergency for us to show up. I asked [NORMAN] how she was aware that [VICTIM #1] had control of the knife she advised that [VICTIM #1] have busts through the bedroom door with the knife in hand. Norman advised that she began to defend herself and then that’s when [VICTIM #1] put the knife in his pocket. Norman then played a short video that showed [VICTIM #1] with a knife in his pocket, following [VICTIM #1] knocking Normans cell phone out her hand. I then asked Norman to get dressed and grab [VICTIM #1] a shirt and shoes.

Looking at the totality of the circumstances in scene, it was deemed that Norman was the aggressor, [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. [VICTIM #1] the victim in this domestic dispute received multiple scratches, cuts, and even a bite mark on his back to show he was abused. [REDACTED BY AGENCY] on 2/19/2025 in the booking area of the Rockdale County Jail.
