Officer’s Narrative:

On May 02, 2026 at 22:11 hrs I, Deputy Ray responded to [REDACTED] in non emergency mode in reference to a domestic dispute.
At about 20:10hrs I was advised by Spalding County 911 dispatch that a male subject [REDACTED] had called and ask that units respond to [REDACTED] in reference to a dispute. Mr. [REDACTED] advised Spalding County 911 dispatch that his friend ( Evans, Kaylee W/F) had text him and stated that her husband ( Evans, Anthony W/M ) had hit her and took her phone away to keep her from calling 911.
Upon my arrival at the location I activated my body camera before making contact with a W/M subject who had exited the back door. The subject advised he was Anthony Evans.
Mr. Evans had visible bodily injuries to his face and neck area that appeared to be scratch marks from finger nails. When asked what happened to his face he advised that him and his wife had got into a argument and a fight started. Mr. Evans was checked for weapons before being detained.
I then made contact with his wife ( Kaylee Evans W/F) and she advised that her husband had jumped on her and had hit her in the head. She advised that when this happened he was on top of her and she tried to fight back to get him off of her. She advised that he took her phone and threw it away to keep her from calling 911. I observed that Ms. Evans was texting and talking on a phone and she advised that he did give the phone back after she threatened to call 911
I asked Ms. Evans where were the children when this incident occurred and she stated that they were in another room and did not witness the incident/
I then spoke to the first juvenile and he advised that he seen his mother hitting his dad. He stated his dad tried to leave and his mother was hitting his car with one of her crutches. Ms. Evans had a broken leg and was on crutches during this incident. He went on to say that this incident took place before his dad went to the store and came back. He advised that when his dad returned from the store his dad caught his mother texting on her phone and that she was sending pictures of herself to another man. He continued and stated that his dad got really mad and was yelling and cussing at his mom and his mom called him a fagg*t and other bad words.
I then spoke to Deputy Whitmer who was assisting and speaking to Mr. Evans at the same time I was speaking to the children and he advised that Mr. Evans stated that the marks on his neck and bumps on his forearms were from where Ms. Evans had picked up a claw hammer and hit him several times. He stated that Mr. Evans said he picked up the hammer off the floor and placed it on top of the refrigerator. A claw hammer was located on top of the refrigerator.
I asked the juvenile about the hammer and he stated that he had seen his mother hitting his dad with the hammer.
I then spoke to the other juveniles and and both advised that they were in their room when their dad came home from the store and the argument started. Both also advised that they had seen their dad hitting their mother in the head.
While in the residence it was observed to be in disarray. No property was observed to be broken.
I then spoke to another subject [WITNESS #1] by phone and he advised that he was Mr. Evans father. He advised that he had received a phone call from his son and he could hear the argument so he recorded the call. Mr. [WITNESS #1] was able to play the recording for me to hear and during the call I could hear Ms. Evans yelling vulgar obscenities at Mr. Evans and at one point in the call Mr. Evans yells in a reaction that she had just hit him with a hammer.
I asked Ms. Evans about the hammer and denied the allegations.
I advised Ms. Evans that based on the evidence they were both being arrested for battery under the Georgia Family Violence Act.
I had Ms. Evans contact a friend ( [REDACTED] W/F) who could come and take possession of the children until Mr. Evans could come from his home in Dublin, GA. to get the children.
Ms. [REDACTED] arrived on scene and she was advised of the situation. Ms. Evans gave possession of her children to Ms. [REDACTED].
Ms. [REDACTED] was given contact information for Mr. Evans in order to coordinate a pick up time.
Ms. Evans agreed that this arrangement would be ok.
Mr. Evans was transported by SGT. Fuller to the Spalding County detention center.
Ms. Evans was placed into the back seat of my patrol vehicle and seat belted in for her safety. Due to her injury her hands were cuffed in the front of her. The back seat was checked for contraband prior to and after her exit. She was then transported to the Spalding County detention center and turned over to jail staff for processing.
A incident report was also filed with DCFS to follow up on the incident.
Pictures of all injuries and areas of the residence were also taken and are available with this report. Warrants for both parties will be obtained ASAP.
On May 04, 2026 at 11:14hrs warrants for Mr. and Mrs. Evans were obtained and signed by Judge Grubbs for the following charges: Kaylee Evans was charged with 1 count Aggravated Assault ( OCGA 16-5-21) under the Georgia Family Violence Act and 3 counts of Cruelty to a child 3rd degree.
Anthony Evans was charged with 1 count of Battery ( OCGA 16-5-23.1(f) ) under the Georgia Family Violence Act and 3 counts of Cruelty to a child 3rd degree.
