On October 6th 2025, I, Lt. Nicholas Bruce responded to [100 BLOCK] Bantry Way in reference to a Home invasion in progress. I responded in emergency mode. Dispatch advised [REDACTED] called 911 to advise that her daughter called her stating a man forced himself into the house after she cracked the door to speak with him. She was unable to provided any further information due to the daughter hanging up. Dispatch attempted to contact the daughter, Ariel Herinitt, by phone but was unsuccessful.
Due to the nature of the call myself and two other units responded in emergency mode, with lights and sirens. I arrived first on scene and as I approached the door I was listening for sounds of a struggle. After not hearing anything I banged on the door and began to move to the side of the house in case the prepetrator attempted to flee out the back. I then heard a female voice call out that she was at the front door. As I made my way to the door she advised that it was a prank. She further stated she was just playing a Tik Tok prank on her mother.
I immediately cancelled other responding units due to the risk of driving in emergency mode and to free them up for other holding calls in the county. I then began to explain how reckless this was. I advised her that not only did she put myself and two other Deputies lives in danger due to driving in emergency mode, she risked the safety of the other motoring public and most likely the safety of her mother who she admitted was driving fast to get to her.
I asked for Ariel to provide me with an ID for reporting purposes, to which she complied. After speaking with Judge Parks I was able to obtain a warrant for False report of crime 25-ew-005708 due to causing such panic and concern in her mother that she contacted 911 to report a home invasion.
On October 7th 2025, I returned to [100 BLOCK] Bantry Way and placed Ariel under arrest and Deputy Manns transported her to jail.
[End of Narrative]
