Officer’s Narrative:

[NARRATIVE #1 on October 01, 2024]

On 10/01/2024 at approximately 19:30, I responded in an emergency mode to [1100 BLOCK] Gonza Dr, which is located within the City of Griffin Spalding County Georgia, to a report of a drive by shooting.

I arrived on scene and made contact with the caller [WITNESS #1] who was outside on the phone with dispatch. She advised that she was in the backyard and saw 5 black males open fire on her residence from the west side of the property. [WITNESS #1] advised that her car was stuck and her daughter’s bedroom was struck from the front of the house. [WITNESS #1] claimed the suspects got back into a 1999 silver Honda and left.

I located the vehicle and confirmed that there was damage to a 2018 Honda Accord blue in color tag # [REDACTED] which was caused from the shooting. I then went inside the residence and located the damage in the bedroom caused by the shooting.

I went back outside and made contact with 2 males who were inside the residence at the time of the incident. [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2] who advised they were sitting inside on the couch in the living room when the shooting started. They also advised that the suspected shooters came from the West side of the residence and were on foot concealed behind the shrubs shooting at the house.

I made contact with one [VICTIM #3] who advised that she was in her bedroom at the time of the shooting. She advised that she was on the bed and as the shooting started, she dropped to the floor to take cover, There were multiple gunshot holes in the bedroom at the time I made contact.

After I made contact with the residence at the house next door located at [1100 BLOCK] Gonza Dr which was also struck by bullets and had damage to the side of the residence. [VICTIM #4] advised he was inside his residence when the shooting happened. The female occupant [VICTIM #5] advised she was laying down on her bed when the shooting started. [VICTIM #5] tried to access ring camera footage on the front door however was unsuccessful in finding anything related to the shooting.

I then made contact with [VICTIM #6] who advised she was inside when the shooting began. She advised before the shooting occurred that one male, who was black male with dreads, was walking northbound on George circle and met up with a group of people. Once the shooting started, they were gone the group of people were no longer there. [VICTIM #4] escorted me inside the residence where I located the gunfire that made contact with the house. There was damage to the window in the bed room and the tv was damaged which was also located inside the bed room.

On call crime scene Ofc. Jones and Ofc. Kerlin responded to the scene for processing

[NARRATIVE #2 on July 23, 2025]

On 07/23/2025 at approximately 0439 hrs, I responded in non-emergency mode to the address of [1200 BLOCK] Crossings Pl in reference to the report of a domestic disturbance/ dispute called in by a third party. Upon arrival, I made contact with the complainat, identified as [VICTIM #7]. [VICTIM #7] advised that she was just involved in an incident involving the father of her child. [VICTIM #7] advised that she contacted her mother, who of which contacted law enforcement.

[VICTIM #7] advised that she was recently returning home to her residence when the father of her child approached the entry door of her residence. [VICTIM #7] advised that she was able to enter her residence and swiftly lock the door behind her. [VICTIM #7] advised that when doing so, that the father of her child began kicking the entry door to her apartment, stating that he ultimately kicked the door until said door was forced entirely open. [VICTIM #7] advised that prior to kicking said door, that the father of her child forcefully removed the white in color Ring Doorbell Camera from its mounted position on the door frame (hinge side of door). [VICTIM #7] advised that said Ring Doorbell Camera was then thrown into the woods. [VICTIM #7] advised that upon the father of her child making entry into the residence, that he began damaging items within the residence.

While inside [VICTIM #7] advised that the father of her child grabbed multiple items from inside the residence and threw said items deep into the woods behind said apartment (west of entry door). Also, while inside, [VICTIM #7] advised that the father of her child grabbed her by the collar of her shirt and shoulders. [VICTIM #7] advised that in doing so, she attemtped to push back at the father of her child. [VICTIM #7] advised that after doing so, that the father of her child stopped. [VICTIM #7] advised that once exited from the residence, that the father of her child grabbed her by the left leg and threw her to the ground.

[VICTIM #7] advised that while located inside her residence, that the father of her child caused damage to the front entry door as well as damage to various other items within the residence. Damages occurred to the entry door included the lower portion of the doorknob side of the door being bent inward creating a clearly visible separation between the door and the door frame. Other items damaged included a large crack in her TV located in her living room (black in color Philips 65″ TV). [VICTIM #7] advised that the remote to said TV was also damaged, in the form of being completely broken into several pieces.

[VICTIM #7] advised that other items taken from the residence included a black in color iPhone 16 contained in clear case and the keys to her 2015 Nissan Altima. The aforementioned keys were described as being a black in color keyfob with her mailbox key and connected on a butterfly keychain. [VICTIM #7] advised that she believed the father of her child threw said items into the woods.

At this time, [VICTIM #7] presented with superficial injuries (scratches), to the lower portion of her right arm and also with a scratch to the left portion of the collarbone. Said injuries were photographed by on-shift crimescene. [VICTIM #7] advised that she did not wish to or require to be evaluated by EMS.

While on scene, the aforementioned black in color iPhone 16 and the aforementioned Ring Doorbell camera were located in the woods approximately 200 feet west of the residence. Said items were photographed in their current locations and were ultimately returned to [VICTIM #7]. The aforementioned vehicle keys were not located/ recovered. Also located outside of the residence were a black in color computer monitor, a black Jordan shoebox, and a set of blue and white headphones, of which [VICTIM #7] advised that said items belonged to the father of her child.

[VICTIM #7] then advised that the father of her child, now identified as Camren Baker, fled the scene on foot. [VICTIM #7] advised that Baker was dressed in a green in color hoody and jeans. [VICTIM #7] also checked the Ring camera footage, in which Baker is observed forcefully removing said camera and said camera footage shows what appears to be said camera flying through the air. In said camera footage, the aforementioned green in color hoodie and jeans are observed being worn by Baker.

[VICTIM #7] advised she and Baker were not currently in a relationship and stated that they had not lived together, but did advise that they shared a one year old son.

[VICTIM #7] advised that Baker possibly fled the scene to his cousin’s residence. Said Cousin was advised to be a subject by the name of [REDACTED] and it was advised that he resided in the 700 building of the same complex. [VICTIM #7] advised that [REDACTED] drove a gray in color Chevy Camaro.

At this time, other officers checked the 700 building for said camaro, in which one was located bearing GA registration plate numbered [REDACTED]. Said vehicle returned with [REDACTED] being the registered owner and showed an address of [700 BLOCK] Crossings Pl. Other officers on scene then attempted to make contact with [REDACTED] and/ or Baker at such residence. In doing so, Baker was observed jumping out of the third story window wearing the same previously described clothing and ultimately fled the area and a pursuit on foot was taken by officers. It was also observed that said window previously utilized by Baker was closed by an individual still inside. Negative contact was made with any individual still inside said residence. Visual of Baker was lost in the area of the woodline located behind the Family Medical Center.

The request for a K9 track was made and such action was performed by the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office, but was ultimately unsuccessful in locating Baker.

A victim statement form was completed and signed by [VICTIM #7].

Photographs of all injuries sustained by [VICTIM #7], all damages occurred to the residence and property of [VICTIM #7], and the property recovered within the woods previously taken by Baker were taken by on-shift crime scene officer K. Bell.

I advised [VICTIM #7] of the case number issued in reference to this incident, also stating how to obtain a copy of the report that would be generated. My department issued body worn camera was active during this call for service. The aforementioned victim statement form was taken to PD HQ and was logged into evidence. I will be speaking with a magistrate court judge in reference to obtaining warrants.

[NARRATIVE #3 on July 30, 2025]

On 07/30/2025 at approximately 1330 hours, I, Officer Hardeman, was informed by a concerned citizen, that Camren Baker ([REDACTED BY AGENCY]05), was in the breezeway at [700 BLOCK] Anne St wearing a black shirt.

Upon my arrival, I entered the breezeway and observed Camren Baker sitting on the stairs inside [700 BLOCK] Anne St. I identified Baker by his face, which I had prior knowledge of through his booking photo. At this time, Baker was detained by being placed in handcuffs by Officer Tomlinson, which were double-locked and checked for a proper fit. Baker was detained without incident.

Officer Piland arrived on scene and handed me warrants he had taken on Baker 07/25/2025. Officer Zubia then transported Baker to Spalding County Jail, where he was then turned over to jail staff.
