On 07/08/2026 at 0842 hours, I, Officer Newman #3926, responded alongside other officers to the area of [200 BLOCK] Quincy Ave in reference to a person chasing another person with a knife. Upon my arrival, I met with [VICTIM #1], who advised that his brother, who was identified as Park Dajonai was chasing him through the apartment complex with a knife.
[VICTIM #1] stated he and his brother got into an argument about cleaning the residence. [VICTIM #1] stated he went outside, where Dajonai started to push him, and he also stated that he hit him in his back. [VICTIM #1] stated that Dajonai grabbed a kitchen knife and ran towards him with it and chased him all over the parking lot with the knife.
See Officer Bagwell’s supplemental for further information. While on scene, I observed video footage of the incident at the rent office. Upon reviewing video footage, I observed what appeared to be Dajonai become irate and aggressive with [VICTIM #1] by pushing him and shoving him.
I observed Dajonai go back towards their residence, grab a knife off the ground, where he moved aggressively towards [VICTIM #1] with the knife. CSI Hill and Investigator C. Smith responded to the scene, where Dajonai was transported to PD for further questioning.
Dajonai was placed into handcuffs, which were double locked and checked for fit, and he was placed into the backseat of my patrol vehicle and transported to the Spalding County Jail. The knife located by Officer Bagwell on scene was placed into evidence. 2 statement forms were also placed into evidence by Officer Henderson.
