On 8-19-23 at approximately 1626 hours, I Deputy Ponczoch responded non emergency to [600 BLOCK] Northside Dr [REDACTED] in regards to an assault and a vehicle that was stolen.

When I arrived on scene, I activated my body worn camera and met with [VICTIM #1] (B/M DOB -78) and [VICTIM #2] (B/F DOB -94). [VICTIM #1] advised me that he been assaulted by three persons that were trying to get his keys to a Tan Tahoe ([REDACTED]). The Tahoe was registered to [VICTIM #2] who was reporting it stolen.

The car is only able to be used my [REDACTED] who is [VICTIM #2]’s step sister and [VICTIM #1]’s daughter. [VICTIM #1] is also able to use the car. Cortez who took the Tahoe was [REDACTED]’s boyfriend and never had permission from [VICTIM #2] to take the car. The car was parked at the residence [600 BLOCK] Northside Dr [REDACTED].

When further talking to [VICTIM #1] he advised me that Frederick Harden (B/M DOB -75) drove by in a Silver Chevy Malibu ([REDACTED]) and dropped off three persons, Cortez Fambro (B/M DOB -2000), Jessica Harden (B/F DOB -83), and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. Fredrick then drove off. [VICTIM #1] kept asking Cortez that he needed the keys to the Tahoe, so he can go to work. Cortez stated he was not going to give him anything.

Cortez grabbed [VICTIM #1] from behind keeping [VICTIM #1]’s hands behind his back. During that time Cortez was trying to get the keys from [VICTIM #1]. [JUVENILE #1] and Jessica got involved in the fight. [JUVENILE #1] and Jessica grabbed and held on to him while they punched [VICTIM #1]’s chest. Cortez then attempted to throw [VICTIM #1] to the ground to get the keys back.

Cortez, Jessica, and [JUVENILE #1] kept throwing the keys back and forth to prevent [VICTIM #1] from getting the keys. Cortez ended up with the keys and then ran to the Tahoe and drove off. Frederick came back to the scene to pick up Jessica and [JUVENILE #1] and they drove off towards Jackson Rd, Griffin.

[VICTIM #2] advised me that Cortez didn’t have permission to take the car. [VICTIM #2] even attempted to call Cortez to get her car back and he was not answering his cell phone according to [VICTIM #2]. I was able to get the vehicle information for the East Side Units. Units on the east side were able to get behind the offenders car.

Units apprehended Frederick, Jessica, and [JUVENILE #1] and took them into custody. After the traffic stop the Malibu was towed by Crown towing. Other units also assisted in tracking down the tan Tahoe, the vehicle was located at [300 BLOCK] Ginny Ln., Griffin. [300 BLOCK] Ginny Ln. is also where the offenders reside at. Cortez already fled the scene before units arrived. The keys were never found and believed the keys are still with Cortez. Witness statements were obtained by [VICTIM #1] and [VICTIM #2].

The Tahoe was towed by Crown Towing from [300 BLOCK] Ginny Ln and [VICTIM #2] was notified. Frederick and Jessica was transported by other units to Spalding County Jail for processing. [JUVENILE #1] was transported to Spalding County Sheriff Office and was being held there until a relative can come to pick her up.

[JUVENILE #1] is charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle and Simple Battery. She assisted in taking the vehicle as well as holding and punching [VICTIM #1]. I spoke with Juvenile System, a Mr. [REDACTED] and he advised me to go head and turn her over with a relative and he will look into the charges Monday (8/21/23). [JUVENILE #1] sister came and picked [JUVENILE #1] up. A juvenile complaint form was filled.
