[NARRATIVE #1 on January 18, 2025]
On January 18th, 2025 at approximately 2244 hours, I responded in non-emergency mode to [100 BLOCK] Blanton Ave Apt [REDACTED], which is located within the City of Griffin Spalding County Georgia, to a report of an Assault.
Upon my arrival I made contact with a Ms. [VICTIM #1] who stated while she was on the phone with her mother discussing an incident that occurred with her incarcerated son, Mr. Jimmy Dennis called her an old bi*ch, struck her in the face with a closed fist, choked her, grabbed her phone and left the residence. Ms. [VICTIM #1] then stated she able to contact the police by using a government phone that belonged to Dennis.
When asked what caused the physical altercation Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated drugs. I Ofc. Webster did observe a small laceration on Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s bottom lip. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated herself and Mr. Dennis had been living at [100 BLOCK] Blanton Ave Apt [REDACTED] for the past five months. The surrounding area was searched for Mr. Dennis with the description given by Ms. [VICTIM #1] of a male wearing a blue top, blue jean shorts and purple shoes but no contact was able be made.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] was able to provide a receipt for the Samsung cellphone from a T-Mobile bag which I Ofc. Webster observed which had a price of $228 and was listed as a Samsung A15 cellphone.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] refused EMS, a witness statement form was completed by Ms. [VICTIM #1].

[NARRATIVE #2 on January 28, 2025]
On 01/28/2025, at approximately 0943 hours, I, Ofc. C. Conaway 3614 with the City of Griffin Police Department, responded in non-emergency mode to [100 BLOCK] Blanton Ave. Griffin-Spalding County, Georgia in reference to a domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, I met with [VICTIM #1] who advised that Jimmy Dennis came into the residence and assaulted her. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she and Mr. Dennis are an off and on couple but have recently split apart due to his drug use with crack cocaine and pills. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that she was recently assaulted by Mr. Dennis on 01/02/2025 (case# 25-000022) and again on 01/18/2025 (case# 25-000311) resulting in 3 active warrants. Ms. [VICTIM #1] advised that Mr. Dennis has not been at the location in a few days so she began the process, this date, of packing Mr. Dennis’ items when he came in through the front door and began shouting at her.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Mr. Dennis screamed at her because he had active warrants for the past assault and told her he was going to kill her as he pushed her body against the wall. Ms. [VICTIM #1] stated that Mr. Dennis then put her into a headlock and began twisting her neck and stated that he also hit her in the right upper area of her head with a hammer. I observed the hammer lying on the kitchen counter. I also observed that Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s left side of her neck, just below her jaw line, appeared bruised and swollen. I asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] of she would like to be seen by medical services to which she declined. I did not observe any injury to Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s head where she was hit with the hammer due to the thickness of her hair. On shift CSI C. Wilson 4073 took photos of Ms. [VICTIM #1]’s injuries and collected the hammer for evidence and fingerprints.
Ms. [VICTIM #1] later stated that after Mr. Dennis assaulted her, he left the location and got into [REDACTED]’s gray in color Ford F150, bearing the Georgia tag [REDACTED]. I asked Ms. [VICTIM #1] if Mr. [REDACTED] witnessed the incident occur to which she advised no he did not and that he was outside the location and inside of his vehicle during the time of the incident. I checked Flock safety cameras for the vehicle but was unable to locate the vehicle. Additional units in the area also searched the surrounding area for the vehicle but was unable to locate it.
I provided Ms. [VICTIM #1] with information regarding Promise Place for domestic victims. I did not have any Promise Place crisis cards or pamphlets but did advise Ms. [VICTIM #1] that she could obtain them from the police department in order to possibly receive assistance with her domestic relationship.
My body camera was used for this incident.
I obtained warrants for Mr. Dennis in regard to Terroristic threats, Battery – FV and Aggravated Assault – FV. I also inquired about obtaining a warrant in reference to Aggravated Stalking due to Mr. Dennis’ RMS history showing he had a conditional bond to stay away from Ms. [VICTIM #1] but was denied the warrant because it was no longer valid.
