On the 13th day of April 2026, Deputy J.Reeves responded in non-emergency mode to [REDACTED] in reference to a domestic.
Upon arrival Deputy Reeves activated his body camera and made contact with Julian Crawford who was sitting in her vehicle at the bottom of her driveway. Julian stated her and her husband had gotten into an argument and she had fired two warning shots from her pistol. Upon hearing this Deputy Reeves made contact with [VICTIM #1] who was at the front door of the property. [VICTIM #1] was asked where the firearm was and he present Deputy Reeves with a large magazine that he stated did not come from Julian’s gun. [VICTIM #1] then stated he had placed the firearm in the garage on top of a fridge after he and Julian had fought over the gun.
[VICTIM #1] stated he had gotten into an argument with Julian about a recent trip she had taken out of state, while they were speaking Julian walked to their shared bedroom which [VICTIM #1] followed. [VICTIM #1] stated when he walked into the bedroom Julian was holding the firearm and pointed it at him while telling him to “get back”. [VICTIM #1] stated he continued to slowly advance towards her to close the distance so he could take the gun from her while she still had it pointed at him. [VICTIM #1] said a single shot went off and when it did he lunged at Julian and began to wrestle with her for the firearm.
During the struggle a second shot went off and [VICTIM #1] began yelling for his step-son [WITNESS #1] to kick the door to the bedroom down which was locked and help him get the gun from Julian. [WITNESS #1] was able to break the door down and get into the room and help [VICTIM #1] take the gun from Julian. [VICTIM #1] stated [WITNESS #1] too the gun to the bathroom in the hallway and removed the magazine and cleared the round that was in the chamber.
Once the gun was taken from Julian, [VICTIM #1] stated she left the home and around 10 minutes later two males showed up at the home who [VICTIM #1] identified as Julian’s nephews trying to fight [VICTIM #1] and telling him to “quit hitting there auntie”. While outside one of the males who had on light colored shorts and a dark colored t-shirt can be seen reaching towards his waistband but no gun is seen during the ring camera video [VICTIM #1] was able to show Deputy Reeves.
Deputy Reeves finished speaking with [VICTIM #1] and went to speak with Julian. Julian stated that [VICTIM #1] had began arguing with her after the two returned from the store together. Julian stated that [VICTIM #1] was standing over her and balling his fist up while speaking with her in the kitchen area. Julian stated [VICTIM #1] stated she needed to leave because he had nowhere to go, which she replied “i’m not leaving my home you can stay at the front of the house and I will stay at the back”. Julian stated [VICTIM #1] the stated “I’m about to do something devilish” and told her he was going to throw her property out in the yard and he walked to the bedroom and grabbed two pair of her shoes.
Julian stated when [VICTIM #1] walked towards the bedroom she followed him into the bedroom to retrieve her purse because she knew her firearm was in her purse and she wasn’t what he was going to do. Julian stated once in the bedroom [VICTIM #1] was on the side of the bed further away from the door and she was near the wall closest to the door. Julian stated at that [VICTIM #1] picked up a baseball that was in the room and motioned as if he was going to throw the ball at her but he then set it down and began walking towards her to which she advised him “i’m about to fire a warning shot”.
Julian stated when [VICTIM #1] walked up to her she attempted to push him back and he slapped her arm away from him. [VICTIM #1] then ended up behind Julian but she stated she is not sure how and that is when the first shot was fired. The second shot was fired a short time later while Julian and [VICTIM #1] were fighting over the gun. Julian also had a short video that was of audio prior to the first gun shot. In the video Julian and [VICTIM #1] can be heard talking and at one point Julian can be heard saying “don’t hit me” and [VICTIM #1] responding “I didn’t hit you I knocked your hand away”. The video ends with Julian saying “don’t touch my stuff’ and “I’m about to do a warning shot real quick” with [VICTIM #1] replying “you gonna shoot me about some shoes”. Julian was unsure how much time passed after the video before the first gun shot happened but she stated it was after the video.
Deputy Reeves spoke with [WITNESS #1] after speaking with Julian. [WITNESS #1] stated he did not witness any of the argument he could just hear it, he did state that [VICTIM #1] followed Julian into the bedroom still talking to her which contradicted what Julian stated which was [VICTIM #1] went to the bedroom first. [WITNESS #1] also stated he was given the gun by [VICTIM #1] after he kicked the door down to get into the room.
Due to [WITNESS #1]’s statements matching with [VICTIM #1]’s version of events Julian was determined to be the primary aggressor and was placed into handcuffs behind her back by Deputy Reeves. Also at the home during the incident in and adjacent room were Julian and [VICTIM #1]s two juvenile children [REDACTED BY AGENCY] and [REDACTED BY AGENCY]. They were double locked and checked for proper fit before she was placed into the back of Deputy Reeves patrol vehicle.
Deputy Reeves collected the following items from the scene as evidence. A Smith and Wesson 380. handgun, a black Smith and Wesson magazine with four 380. round still in the magazine, a small black handgun holster for the Smith and Wesson handgun, one 380. shell casing and a black metal magazine that had eight 45. caliber bullets that [VICTIM #1] stated he picked up when Julians nephew’s arrived on scene. These items were secured in and evidence bag and transported to the Sheriffs Office to be placed into evidence. Also documented by photos were two separate bullet holes the first being on the ground inbetween the bed and the wall closet to the door and the second being through a clear storage container which had an exit hole out the side and another entry hole into the wall behind the container. Once these items were collected and photos were taken Julian was transported to the Spalding County Jail by Deputy Reeves and turned over to detention deputies with no incidents. The items collected were placed in a secured evidence box and properly labeled before being placed in a locked and secured evidence locker to be held for evidence.
Deputy Reeves spoke with Magistrate Judge Parks and obtained warrants for Julian for the following
